New love interest expecting a baby with his ex

MyNameIsNotYourName · 25/05/2017 20:24

I met this guy online and have been seeing him for the past couple of months. I really like him and want to see what happens between us but he's just found out that his ex is 3 months pregnant with his baby. They already have two children together so this is their third.
He's reassured me that nothing is going on between his ex and him and I'd like to trust what he says as he hasn't given me a reason not to.
I chose to stick around because I really like him but the situation worries me. Am I right to try and see what happens between us or should I walk away and find someone else?

I'd be very cautious OP. Only 3 months pregnant? And you've been seeing him for 2? Yes, very very cautious.

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 25/05/2017 20:26

Don't walk away.

Fucking run!

2014newme · 25/05/2017 20:27

Run. You'd be bonkers to get involved.

Blossomdeary · 25/05/2017 20:28

If I were you I would lose interest at great speed. Do you need anyone else to tell you this?

MyNameIsNotYourName · 25/05/2017 20:29

He seems to really like me though, I don't doubt at all that he doesn't. We see each other every weekend and it's always so lovely being in each other's company

I wouldn't want to be involved with that in all honesty.

MyNameIsNotYourName · 25/05/2017 20:31

He's been split with his ex for a while but this pregnancy resulted after a one night thing they had together

OP posts:
Mamagin · 25/05/2017 20:31

What reason has he given as to why he split up with the mother of his children?

2014newme · 25/05/2017 20:31

He really likes you because most women wouldn't be as stupid as to get involved in this scenario

ShelaghTurner · 25/05/2017 20:31

I don't usually get involved in the relationships topic but blimey. He's working fast to have been seeing you for 2 months and have his ex 3 months pregnant. Run like the wind!

user76895432 · 25/05/2017 20:31

Run far and run fast.

He has wrong un written all over him.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/05/2017 20:32

Run away as fast as you can!

MyNameIsNotYourName · 25/05/2017 20:32

He doesn't want to be with his ex. They don't work as a couple

OP posts:
Lunar1 · 25/05/2017 20:33

Run, very fast.

2014newme · 25/05/2017 20:33

You aren't listening so why did you bother posting

2014newme · 25/05/2017 20:34

12 weeks ago we shagging her so...

MyNameIsNotYourName · 25/05/2017 20:34

I messaged his ex who confirmed to me that nothing is going on between the two of them

OP posts:
MyFavouriteName · 25/05/2017 20:34

3 months pregnant means they slept together 2.5 months ago. So a couple of weeks before you started dating? I wouldn't bother. Far too complicated and messy.

Umpteenthnamechange · 25/05/2017 20:35

Why did you post OP?

ravenmum · 25/05/2017 20:35

For someone who doesn't want to be with his "ex", he's not working too hard at not being with her, is he?

Come now, no-one is going to say this is a good idea!

Georgieporgiepuddinandpie · 25/05/2017 20:35

Do you generally like any man who likes you?

That's a genuine question. Some women are happy with a man just on the basis that he likes them. Strive for something more OP

UpYerGansey · 25/05/2017 20:40

Madness. Run away 🏃

Hermonie2016 · 25/05/2017 20:41

You just don't know what you are getting into..its going to several years before everything settles.

He was online in a matter of weeks or earlier..if he did this to the mother of his 2 children he will do this to other women.

His past behaviour is likely to be an indicator to his future behaviour.
He must be a charmer..his ex fell for it.
It's massive red flags..can you see he's on his best behaviour?

MagicalMrsMistoffelees · 25/05/2017 20:42

I'm sure he does like you. You could be the perfect match.

But you've only just met and have no roots yet. He is having a baby with another woman. That isn't just bad news for your relationship in and of itself but if he's a decent man then he'll be attending scans, there at the birth and then right on past that. That's a massive commitment on his part. And no matter what he and his ex say about nothing going on currently I wonder whether bonding may take place over the next 6 months and beyond which draws them back together. Because they do have roots.

So why compromise when there are plenty of other decent men with no (or less complicated) ties?
