Please tell me it'll be okay

I'm leaving my husband of 25 years and taking the children: a planned escape after 25 years of abuse. I go on Monday. Please tell me it will be okay. I wasn't built to be on my own and I'm so worried about what the future holds.

Holy moly, well done you. What an excellent brave decision. You will not regret being free of the abuse.

You don't have to be on your own, there are a lot of people in your situation who would understand and support you. Will you be near some source of support (friends, family, domestic violence shelter etc)?

A new life awaits. Yes you'll need time to adjust and there will be anxious moments, but enjoy the moments of euphoria of freedom. Keep the vision of where you want to be alive and ignore the pot holes along the way.

It will be ok !! In my first marriage I left after 9 years, was planned. I was petrified, within 3 months I was seeing someone else (didnt work out but certainly took the edge off the loneliness and upset) , so was my exH (so much for he couldnt live without me) -- seriously I found the thought of it was much worse than the reality.
