I'm leaving my husband of 25 years and taking the children: a planned escape after 25 years of abuse. I go on Monday. Please tell me it will be okay. I wasn't built to be on my own and I'm so worried about what the future holds.

Glass that is the most fabulous news Thanks

I know I'm a stranger on the internet but I'm so bloody proud of you. This is the beginning of the rest of your life Thanks

It will be okay glass. IME when the relationship gets bad enough, being on your own is far better. It was for me. (And I'm not on my own now. I was for a couple of years. But I thought to myself, "If I'm on my own forever, that would be better than this marriage") Flowers

Wow, well done for finally being strong enough to leave. You'll be fine. Just imagine how proud you'll feel once you're out and free for the first time in 25 years! Best of luck Flowers!!
