Honestly, I very well may be being over sensitive, but I want to make sure.

I had a baby boy a few months ago and said via text I'd like to start running as I don't feel great about my appearance and he replies with the message attached. It's the "shall I cancel the Chinese" bit that seems rude!?

Again, I may be being over sensitive, please don't be too harsh!

You are being over sensitive. He sounds like he is trying to be supportive :)

Rioja123 · 14/04/2017 23:59

You're being over sensitive.

MrsHenryWales · 15/04/2017 00:00

He sounds lovely

Emphasise · 15/04/2017 00:01

Blimey, I can't think of a way he could have been more lovely Smile

lightcola · 15/04/2017 00:01

His first sentence tells you you're gorgeous. Focus on that. He is being supportive. What did you want him to say?

FeckinCrutches · 15/04/2017 00:01

Definitely over sensitive, he sounds lovely and was just trying to make a joke. I don't even get why you think he's being rude

PointlessUsername · 15/04/2017 00:03

Sounds okay to me?.

NamidyName · 15/04/2017 00:03

Wow! Ok! Definitely me then Grin I don't know, I suppose I'm feeling very paranoid about things Confused glad he wasn't though.

You are being over sensitive.

Hth

FeckinCrutches · 15/04/2017 00:05

I hope you didn't have a go at him!

MrsHenryWales · 15/04/2017 00:06

To be fair, it was a very reasonable question to ask about the Chinese. Because if you are trying to trim up, the Chinese isn't going to help, is it?

ByeByeBadman · 15/04/2017 00:07

If you had a baby a few months ago, just take it easy on yourself though .

OldMcdonalad · 15/04/2017 00:09

I think you wanted him to say really that there is completely nothing wrong with how you look and tell you not to bother in all honesty, doesn't mean he doesn't think that already but I think it's nice to just hear that sort of reply :)

OldMcdonalad · 15/04/2017 00:09

Agree Badman

Floggingmolly · 15/04/2017 00:11

Ah, God love him! Why do you think that's rude?

VimFuego101 · 15/04/2017 00:17

I wish my husband would be similarly understanding about not eating crap when I'm trying to lose weight!

Aquamarine1029 · 15/04/2017 03:51

You are totally overreacting. He's supporting you, now get out there and get back in shape! Starting exercising and eating properly. You'll feel so much better!

rollonthesummer · 15/04/2017 04:00

Rude? Really?! Erm, he sounds lovely!

Fluffybrain · 15/04/2017 04:01

He sounds like a nice guy.

Bluntness100 · 15/04/2017 04:08

Wow. I'd hate to see how you reacted if he actually was rude. Nothing rude about that text.

Anniegetyourgun · 15/04/2017 07:36

I have a finely tuned radar for offensive nuance and that doesn't sound like anything of the sort. He may have been gently teasing about the Chinese but there's nothing wrong with that.

KateDaniels2 · 15/04/2017 08:01

Why did you feel annoyed? What is it you thought he was saying?

thethoughtfox · 15/04/2017 09:26

He spelled 'you're' correctly. He's a keeper.

MumBod · 15/04/2017 09:28

The double question mark shows he's joking about the Chinese, but only half-joking because he's trying to be supportive.

He sounds bloody lovely, truly.

Go easy on him and on yourself.

MumBod · 15/04/2017 09:28

Ha, thoughtfox, I thought that, too Grin
