My husband doesn't like to take me to the public. We are at our 30s, we have a 2year old son.Married 3 years. His company had Christmas party, he said, baby and me are allowed to go. I said how could u invite some people to a party like this, allowed? I was still not happy but he left home without persuade me to go. For other events he explained he didn't want to mix family with work. I had never join any of his company's Christmas party, just had meal one time with new colleagues ,that's all.Is that usual?

Some places have spouses and children along but it is unusual. One place I worked at did that for a weekend after Christmas as a thank you to the families for putting up with a lot of extra hours.

But it's never that much fun because they're your DH's colleagues, not yours and DC are all different ages and don't know each other. So you've not really missed much.

However, hopefully you go out together as a family to other things. And out with other families that you both like. If not, that is a different problem.
