I know I shouldn't have looked at DHs mobile - now wish I really hadn't

I was going to use the phone, switched off, so I turned on and looked in his inbox - have found two recent messages from a woman - don't know who, only identified as 'S'.

Shit shit shit
Now what? he's out at the moment and will probably be half pissed when he comes in

I was on the receiving end of a weird jealous call once. Bloke rings and asks for a name, I tell him sorry he's got a wrong number. It then goes all strange.
"I haven't got the wrong number, who are you?" "Sorry mate, you have got the wrong number, never heard of xxxx". "Listen, stay away from my girlfriend or you'll be sorry". "Mate, you're definately barking up the wrong tree". "I'll come over there and kill you, I know where you live". "If you know where I live, get off the fucking phone and come and see me you stupid twat". Brrrrrrrrr.

Wish I could have seen his face when he discovered he really did have a wrong number.

I think if there was anything dodgy going on he'd have had his phone with him at the NYE party and would have sneaked off shortly after 12 to wish her a happy new year in private. The fact he didn't, and you've no other reason to feel uncomfortable implies this is innocent / sent in error.

I recently swapped phones with DH as I was going away and mine was out of charge. As he gave it to me he looked uncomfortable and told me he'd had a text from a girl that he hadn't been bothered to read (it was txt speak) but it had been sent to him as a wrong number. I read it (I'm a lot more nosey / patient than him) and it was hilarious - really enjoyed the kiss we shared in XXX the other week, hope this is the start of something special, please call me.
XXX was a village which I later found to be near Blackpool (about 200 miles away from us) but I felt very sorry for this girl who was going to assume she had been rejected!

Oh, and I read DH's texts and I'm sure he does the same to me. Not in a suspicious way, but if my phone beeps and he's closest he'll read it and vice versa. Why on earth not?!

Hmm. I think calling Dh Tiger may work - see if he looks alarmed.
IME Folk who have affairs think no one knows ever and EVERYONE does.

I do hope you sort it.
I never X after messages but all sorts of people do.

Nowt wrong with using partners mobile phones. Those who have an issue with that are those who probably don't want their partners to see their phones!

I have to say, that if my dh had texts from 'Tiger' and her number in his filofax then I'd be asking questions. Men aren't naturally sneaky, that's left to us, so deleting the texts may not have occured to him.

I don't call any of my male friends "sweetie" unless I'm being sarcastic and I'm sorry but 'Tiger' is a bit of a dodgy nickname for a woman. If my male friends called me Tiger then dh would rightly be asking questions. Trollop or tart is a matey nickname, but definitely NOT Tiger!

But, it's your partner and you know him best.

ThelittlestHobo · 11/01/2007 18:11

Agree that if he has nothing to hide then tis not an issue.

Oh god hoped this thread had died - obviously not.
I did ask and it's a client, I know her. She is a little bit too friendly with him, it's her that actually calls herself Tiger DH said that I've absolutely nothing to worry about, she's married (how happy I don't know) and, in his words, she's at least four times the size of me - and I ain't that skinny
