You have small DC, so honestly, how often do you have sex?

I am currently watching a film called 'friends with kids' where one of the husbands said he was having sex twice a month, the other guy was really shocked saying "oh my god I didn't think things were that bad!" It made me think oh dear, sometimes my husband and I only have sex 3/4 times a month, but generally once or twice a week, we are early 30's both work and have a very active toddler.

Just wondering how often you have sex, when you have small DC, work, housework, DIY etc how often are you having sex?

A few of my girlfriends get a bit embarrassed when sex is talked about so I thought I would ask on here as we all don't know each other.

Once a week tops and its only an act of mercy really. Also in our 30s and parents to a toddler. No libido due to breastfeeding/all loved out with being with dd 24/7.

DS is 5 months and me and DP haven't dtd yet.

I'm co-sleeping and breastfeeding. I have absolutely zero libidio. I love DP but just don't miss/want sex at the minute. Luckily DP is 100% supportive and is happy with having a cuddle while watching a film for now.

DD is 10 and DS is 6 and I'm STILL to tired to manage more than once a week ....

Hmmm, this sounds rubbish but we consider once a month to be pretty good going! (2 under 5. We're both teachers so things are pretty dry during term time and better in the holidays....)

When they were under 5yrs old, 2-4 times a month was normal.
I remember talking to a few friends at a baby group, and holidays seemed to be the main time when sex happened!

DDs nearly 5 months - we've had sex every day (minus periods and when either of us have been out) since I stopped bleeding..
Also every day before and during pregnancy until the day my waters broke!
I think I'm the odd one though!

God I've never admitted that to anyone!

There are so many variables in this its difficult to compare. Bf or ff, co-sleeping, level of support, easy kids or little buggers, sstn to name but a few. If you're both ok with it and affectionate in other ways I don't think less frequent sex is indicative of anything other than exhaustion.

I had more sex when they were little and went to bed early than I do now they're teenagers and awake until quite late - we've a small flat and sound travels, it's a tad off-putting and there's only so many nights a week you can stay awake until the small hours to make sure everyone is asleep...

Before DD came along, it was at least daily. DD is now 16 months. I'm breastfeeding and just have no libido. We probably do about once or twice a month (but it's great when we do!). DP would love to more often, but is understanding.

Co-sleeping does put a dampener on things too I suppose.

we have sex everyday. sometimes twice a day

on weekdays this is usually a quickie in the morning

weekends can be whenever and wherever we can fit it in

some months 10-15 times some months once! Depends how we all are feeling. DD 15 months DS 5 have been ill with colds/teething/viruses since late Oct and with have dtd less than 10 times since then!

Two under 15 months so might be lucky could be twice over a weekend then drought for two weeks

Think it's combination of tiredness and him annoying me

Me late 30's, DH early 40's, only a couple of times since DS was born, he is now 3.

We're about once a week, or every two weeks right now. The baby isn't yet 6 months old and we have a toddler so I think we're doing ok. It's extra delightful when we manage twice in a week.

I've never only had a toddler as I had 3 under 4.
I'd imagine that I would have had a lot more inclination with only one child!
With 3 small ones, once the birth part was over and done with it was probably 2 times per month, or 4 times per month or no times per month.
Now they are older things have improved.
Slightly concerned about when they become teenagers and are up late(r), need to put a lock on the bedroom door I think.

Me late 20s, dh early 40s, 8 month old dd. Breastfeeding has zapped my libido, dd doesn't sleep well and dh works long hours - so it's probably about once a week/10 days.

Same as mrsDmitri, my sex life was better when my dc were younger, and actually had a bed time.

Ah never thought of that, that when they get older they don't go to bed early. When are you supposed to fit it in?

Films like that saying twice a month is bad, don't really help do they? As it seems a few times is kind of the average.

DS is 5mths, about 1/2 times weekly. I'd love it to be more but apparently DP just isn't that bothered!

Dd is 10months and its once a week, or on e every two weeks.

I've always been the one with a higher sex drive though, so this is fine for dh.

Teenagers here - 3-4 times a week although I would be happy with much less. Same when they were younger it it was easier then, they went to bed earlier. Most likely time is Saturday & Sunday morning.
