Hello, I'm Mouse Xmas Smile

Welcome to the Bus, he's called Gerald.... he takes us up and down and this wondrous land, searching high and low for Babes in need of some support, a warm place to sit and chat, and to have someone to listen to them.

So, grab a seat as we swing by your way. There's lots of hot drinks, food and fleeces, places to just be and places to sit around and chat if that's what you want.

We don't judge, because we've all be in your shoes, be they stilettos, wellies or crocs!...

We're just us, we're just honest and we just do what we can to help, if we can, when we can. Let's try and have a Merry Christmas without getting off our faces this year. Xmas Smile

Here is the very first, emotional thread if you would like to see where this all started

And the last thread if you want to keep up!

hope am apprehensive here too. Sick to death of waking with a hangover and feeling crap and fat though, so got to try. Am already repeating to myself, its just one day. Its just one day.
In fact, its only 10 hours to bedtime. I can do 10 hours.
ODAAT

Hi babes, and Happy New Year!

Newbie checking in for the second time.

So today starts my 8 days sober, my first goal. The aim then being sober 5 days a week and only drink the other two. I know technically that if I have 3 or 4 wines on these days it would be classed as binge drinking however common sense tells me this must be far better than doing it daily....

Feeling really positive, no hangover today - stayed in with the DH and kids last night, we had a lovely meal and shared two bottles of plonk which was rather tame indeed (I know this would be a blow out to some "normal" drinkers but alas no not for us Blush)

At work this morning so keeping busy, then driving us out to lunch with DM this afternoon. Keeping busy is the key I think for me. Also going to aim to post something positive on here to help my motivation ....

So today's positive; I have made a start on the healthy eating again, and have started using Myfitnesspal again (surprised it did not melt down when I logged in - who the frig are you Marion and where've you been ??)

Good luck to one of all with our AF quests....xx

looking for hope don't forget you have the bus to prop you up. {{{HUGS}}}

beachestoexplore · 01/01/2015 13:27

Day 1. It looks like we are going to have our first proper snowfall here today so I am going to delay the low carb until tomorrow and roast a turkey (cannot avoid the stuffing, potatoes etc) I am also washing all bedding so it will be fresh when I get in sober later.

Keep muttering, today will soon be done xxx

dementedma · 01/01/2015 14:58

7 hours to bed time and today will be done.
Grits teeth.

70hours · 01/01/2015 15:46

Day 1 - I like your countdown Ma - Only 6 hours to bed !!! - Get past 9.00 and it will be a breeze ! ODAAT - come on we can do it !

Anneisnotmyname · 01/01/2015 15:49

Day 1, pottering about the house. Xmas decorations are down, every room is a tip, and all I've really sorted out is some books! It's for a good cause though as I'm planning some early nights in bed reading. Keeping occupied on a night is a must for me Odaat

TheKhalisirules · 01/01/2015 16:22

Happy New Year, babes-on-a-bus!
Very, very proud of the moderates and sober celebrations!
Day 1.
Went for a run after losing my cool on another thread. Blush
It was so hard. But I tell myself 'khalis, eat well, do sports and that will help keep the booze at bay'. And I only need 20minutes three times a week. Doable, right?!
But was very good last night. From 6.30pm - midnight only half a bottle of red and two glasses of bubbly.

aliasjoey · 01/01/2015 17:56

How are you doing ma ?

looking are you okay? I meant to thank you for recommending that 'Destressify' app. There are loads of tracks on there, I don't know where to start! Any ideas?

dementedma · 01/01/2015 18:54

I'm OK. Still on it...nearly there.
Well done khalisi. Cant write your name without having a pang of lust for Ser Jorah Grin
hope are you OK?
Keep going day oners. There is safety in numbers.

SweetLathyrus · 01/01/2015 20:32

Evening babes, hopping back on after a busy and unfortunately rather boozy Christmas and New Year.

Day one is almost over, I have declared my dry Jan very publically - DM asked rather dramatically if I knew it was a 31 day month - humph!

I am also with those of you adding exercise to the mix, even my knickers feel tight this evening.

SweetLathyrus · 01/01/2015 20:35

Ooh, yes Ma, Iain Glen all craggy and dusty Grin

dementedma · 01/01/2015 20:54

Day 1 done.
Another day one tomorrow.

dementedma · 01/01/2015 21:37

Where is everyone?

thurso are you out there and OK?
mouse?
indie?

SweetLathyrus · 01/01/2015 21:39

Sharknado 2 - anything for distraction!

dementedma · 01/01/2015 21:53

In bed with cup of tea and book!

aliasjoey · 01/01/2015 21:58

I only drank 2 mouthfuls and stopped Shock mainly cause I'm soooooo tired, but also because 2015 is going to be The Year of Being Sensible

TheKhalisirules · 01/01/2015 21:59

ma, please don't mention lust! Wink
I don't know what I'm lusting stronger after, a good night sip of fermented red grape juice or maybe Ser Jorah, albeit freshly showered!
(fresh New Year's bedding and all...)
But day 1 is officially over for me. Turning in.
Goodnight, babes!

MrsMarion2015 · 01/01/2015 21:59

I'm here!

Day one down babes, and now the baby has just gotten out of bed in a teething rage... I'm all serene and glad to have avoided the booze, baby however looks like she could do with a thimble of whiskey (I jest)

Keep strong babes x

Anneisnotmyname · 01/01/2015 22:19

Day 1 done, in bed with a book

SweetLathyrus · 01/01/2015 22:21

Couldn't take anymore, that's me to bed and day one done. Night all.

dementedma · 01/01/2015 22:29

Well done, team, well done!
Anyone else joining us tomorrow?

greeneyed · 01/01/2015 22:57

I have frozen left over wine for cooking. No excuse to open a bottle then just for a recipe.

beachestoexplore · 01/01/2015 23:54

I still have a few hours to go but I am not going to get left behind!

Had a strange day today, locked in my own head and no interest in engaging with anyone or anything. Think it is a Christmas come down thing, lethargy from all the eating and drinking and a feeling of emptiness. Avoided actual tears though. I know that it will pass and not drinking is the best route through. Glad to be here xx.

Night babes.

beachestoexplore · 02/01/2015 00:01

God, sorry for maudlin post. You babes have all done great. Wishing a deep and uninterrupted sleep for you all with a little touch of proud when you wake xx
