Hey, I'm Mouse, welcome to the Bus (aka Gerald!) Grin

We're a mixed bunch of folk, some have been here for a while, and of course we have some new additions too. It matters not one jot how long you travel with us, as long as you get something from it.

No matter your story, your needs, your fears and hopes, you CAN come on here and talk. You can cry, scream, rant, let it all out and not be judged for anything. Ever.

We've all been so very low, some have hit the very bottom of the rock, rubbed the bruising better and picked ourselves back up again but sometimes, you need a helping hand or someone to listen too.....which is why we're here, sharing our experiences, or just reading each other's and nodding as we click along.....

The support here is unconditional. :)

There are two banners down each side of Gerald, our super duper Bus saying -

    • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement
    • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

We have lots of food on board, but mainly Opal fruits!!! They tend to be anything other than green, as they get snapped up vair fast indeed!

If you would like to know a bit more about how we got to where we are today, you can read these threads.

why pleased to make your acquaintance ma'am, what a beautiful, beautiful piece of poetry. Thanks I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I thank this bus every day for just trundling along, doing it's thing. xx

joey I adored the Conversation With A Horse Grin Thanks right up my bridle path! (psst - wouldn't know where to start with the writing thing. I only got as far as O Grade English and my old boss told me that my grammar is poor. I would love to write like Stuart MacBride, all local like Grin) You are so right joey, there is a golden thread running through us all. We are drawn to each other because we speak the same language. We feel the same pain. We champion each other's joys and successes. We are one. xx

Anne Grin Save the ironing. There are 3 (count 'em), 3 (!) Columbos on tomorrow. Prime Ironing Time. Columbo makes it all better remember. Before you know it you'll have neat piles everywhere. Of ironing. Not Chalfonts. xx

venus I must try the Peterculter one next strawberry time, if not before! The Breadmaker is my wee oasis of calm bang in the city centre. I feel so at home there, it's one of my places to 'just be'. xx

Luffs you too, Little sends a special hairy hug, she's casting but I know you won't mind. xx

inde and ma you are the Cissie and Ada of the bus, Grin you do make me smile. I'm sorry you are having such a rubbish time inde but love that you have A Grateful List. I am a bit jealous at all the man flesh you and hope are getting free shuftys at. I could be done with a giggle. xx

faire the phonics. Grin I have had my giggle! Thanks xx

I'm on the hot chocolate tonight. I am watching Gogglebox. They are watching something called Remember Me? I am scared. Did anyone see the whole episode? Proper scary. Shock

Roll on Family Guy....

Hello all you lovely ladies - booked to go to Florida in August - can't believe it need to stay sober to ensure I can go on all of the rides xxxxx

PopcornNuts · 28/11/2014 22:17

Day one again folks, bummer. After resisting the ww since last sat I came home late to a very contrite but still grumpy DH (he was in a work related snark and had been snippy before I went out) who handed me a glass of very cold wine. I have no will power whatsoever clearly.

Sorry about the lack of nc, have come to bed away from temptation of food and drink, hopefully check in better tomorrow when I'm less grumpy!

Fairenuff · 28/11/2014 22:34

isindie good to see you posting - hope you're getting over the trauma of the rabbit incident, sometimes it just helps to acknowledge these things out loud Grin Grin After all, who would doubt the eye-witness account of the golden-hearted and golden-haired venus ??

PS - My 65 year old neighbour doesn't realise how much of his body I can see through his bathroom window on a dark winter morning when his bathroom light is on. Usually I get round it by taking my specs off so I can't see him as I open my curtains.

So here we are Babes the last weekend in November - and even if you haven't kept all your promises to yourself about not drinking or living a healthier life, all is not lost, and there is still a chance to have a dry last-weekend-in-November.

Today I am going for a lovely walk up a hill (not a very high hill), then I have a friend coming to stay who is no-wheat, no-dairy, no-sugar. She is hilarious fun (and doesn't drink). Tomorrow I'm heading off in the car for lunch with elderly relatives - not quite so much hilarity or fun, but once again no drinking. So a weekend containing healthy gentle exercise, healthy food, compassionate family duty, and good friendship. Not going to blow anyone's socks off, but nothing to complain about.

OuiLamadame · 29/11/2014 13:17

BABES!!! C'est moi Ladame ici xx

Hello all brave babes old and new from freezing cold France!!

I've been keeping up, but very busy - can you believe c'est un year since I started my job - zut alors!!!

I am usually to be trouve'ed in the sidecar these days, not being particularly good and not being particularly bad - depends on the stress du jour.

Love to all brave bebes xxxx

Selection of French cheeses pour ma cherie Souris xxx

Anneisnotmyname · 29/11/2014 14:57

Hi lamadame

Day 4, not been here in a long time. I'm not going to make any big declarations, much as I'd like to be wine free till Xmas, very much taking it day by day.

lookingforhope · 29/11/2014 17:51

Hi babes. Happy Saturday.

Ma - a pangolin indeed, well done! Aren't they lovely? There is a petition to save them over at Rainforest Rescue website if anybody is minded to sign (not sure if allowed to post links on mumsnet).

Ma, Isinde... Am very excited to finally be friends with Cissy and Ada! Loved them as a child. Do you both have the big chests to hitch up with your folded arms? (Ma I know you do Grin)

Anne, well done on day 4. How is the Shred going? Day 8 here. We are going to do this by Christmas! (determined look)

Waves at Ladame, Venus,.Faire, Popcorn, 70, Wry, Joey, Soc, Baby and the gang. Love you ladies.

aliasjoey · 29/11/2014 19:01

Hello ladame nice to see you

wry I'm afraid you are mistaken; your grammar is fine, and we all love to read you. Maybe start small, a daily blog or short story?

I'm having another annoying weekend acting as mediator between DH and DD. D'argh...

dementedma · 29/11/2014 19:08

Cissie and ada? You cheeky bunch of ungrateful trollops!
And ladame is back! Have missed you Cherie, and your constant rummaging in your vegetable garden. Ca va, mon amie?
Hey popcorn a conciliatory glass is no bad thing. WB brought me breakfast in bed this morning!!!!
Waves to all. Have had a good day Christmas shopping and a wee walk in the November gloom with a friend and an email.

Fairenuff · 29/11/2014 19:13

Hey Ladame so great to hear you've been lurking, you lurky lurker you Grin

I can't believe it's been a year already! Are you enjoying it?

Anne, hope well done, keep going. I can't even get through one session of The Shred but will dig it out and have another try tomorrow. You've inspired me x

Venus I can see into my neighbour's bathroom too, how funny that so many of us can do this.

Ma I've avoided the shops today and spent a glorious afternoon at the seaside. Didn't even need a coat, it's so warm down here.

aliasjoey · 29/11/2014 20:06

Crivens, mas posts really need to be read closely if we don't want to miss the sneaky references and hints!

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 29/11/2014 20:27

Don't they just, dear joey.

ma is getting some t'internet some... Grin

Gaun yersels. I won't be. Little has the skitters.

Anneisnotmyname · 29/11/2014 21:27

Good luck faire I think the shred appears deceptively simple but it still hurts. hope I've just done day six so think i will have to do a few double sessions to finish by Xmas.

Day 4 nearly done, there's wine in the house but I've left h to it. I'm so tired I'd rather just go to bed

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 29/11/2014 21:34

Keep going Anne, with both the shred and day 4, you'll be sleek and glowy by Christmas, you'll see!

I hear a lot on here about Epsom salt soaks for achy bits, and that it helps with bloating too, a win win. Grin

I am hormonally bloaty. Shame I just have a shower. Sad

I can have ache free, thin feet though. xx
