Cancel ....no way

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 09/10/2014 08:34

Tell him your period has started. Go on the date. Either have sex or don't depending on how you and he feel about it.

magpiegin · 09/10/2014 08:36

Just tell him. If either of you don't feel comfortable having penetrative sex you can always do other stuff. If not, just go for it.

2014isagoodyear · 09/10/2014 08:42

Thanks I thought I read somewhere once you could get like a sponge thing to put inside you? As if I didn't have enough body hang ups!

When this happened to me I just mentioned it and gave the option of nothing, non-penetrative sex or penetrative sex. Men tend not to turn down sex no matter what sort! If you aren't comfortable with penetrative sex while on your period then that's ok, isn't most of the fun of that first time exploring each other rather than the actual penetration?

kaykayblue · 09/10/2014 09:09

don't cancel, just tell him.

KoalaKoo · 09/10/2014 10:35

Mooncup? I dont use it but anyone know if you can have sex with it in?

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 09/10/2014 10:37

You can't have sex with a mooncup in. It sits pretty low down so you can reach it with your fingers.

Slumberparty · 09/10/2014 11:31

Sex in the shower!

pushtheskyaway · 09/10/2014 11:54

You could use a natural sea sponge. Just cut it to the right size, and insert!

There's a possibility he might be able to feel it with it though (depending on how low your cervix is) So perhaps best to just be honest with him about the situation?

Your a woman, we have periods, a grown man should understand this. I really don't think it will be an issue. It is annoying, but it doesn't need to spoil all your fun!

KingJoffreysBloodshotEye · 09/10/2014 14:38

I've never met a bloke who minds and I've been with a fair few.

Tell him in advance, he'll be fine.

Have fun!!

2014isagoodyear · 09/10/2014 15:45

What if I go and ask to go back on the pill would that stop it by tomorrow? God I feel fourteen again! I just wanted anything to go smoothly!

OP posts:
Only1scoop · 09/10/2014 15:46

I don't think so if you've already started.

I don't really see the big deal....go ....have fun and enjoy

Doobiedoobedoobie · 09/10/2014 18:42

Oh that is rubbish. But definitely don't cancel! Up to you (and him obv) if you have sex anyway, I've never really fancied it personally but then I'm a gusher Blush and end up doing other stuff.

It'll be fine!

2014isagoodyear · 09/10/2014 19:12

Thanks everyone I'll go and see and hopefully everything will be ok. Xx

ShelaghTurner · 09/10/2014 19:16

Um...you can have sex with a moon cup in...

GaryTheUnicorn · 09/10/2014 19:24

Disposable softcups can be used during sex and keep things from getting messy!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 09/10/2014 20:05

But... but... there's no room shelagh Grin Confused

ShelaghTurner · 14/10/2014 12:11

Sorry late back to this but if you position the moon cup high enough for a while and don't go mad on the, er... force of entry, the there is certainly enough room to make it worthwhile...

And certainly it keeps things nice and clean for mouth based activity :o

I really hope my mother isn't on MN...

CheersMedea · 14/10/2014 12:16

You can't have sex with a mooncup in.

I thought a mooncup had a sort of stalk at the bottom to help you remove it.

(I now have the most horrific image of a man impaling himself on a mooncup stalk down his .. er... central hole)

OP - 100% do not cancel. Do not.

CheersMedea · 14/10/2014 12:18

Never heard of a soft cup before.

How do you get them in - from the picture looks like you'd have to turn it on its side?

How do you get them out? Do you have to fish around for it? Are they messy to remove?

vodkanchocolate · 14/10/2014 23:13

Hi, just read this and know its from last week just wondered how it went? :) Hope you didnt cancel?

This happened to me and my husband when we first got together we had actually had a one night stand previously both very drunk, this was our first date and hoped to dtd I came on day before, I was just honest with him and it was fine. Lots of kissing, cuddling and foreplay etc was actually a really nice memorable evening :)

HerdyHerdwick · 14/10/2014 23:39

I think the comments about mooncups are an excellent demonstration of how different are bodies are!
It never occurred to me that anyone could have sex with theirs in. There is no way I could have sex when wearing my mooncup. It sits too low and the shape is all wrong.

Back in the old days I used a diaphragm as contraception. It worked very well during a period too, but the mooncup just wouldnt work for me.

HerdyHerdwick · 14/10/2014 23:40

our bodies are. it's late!
