Have a romantic night away planned tomorrow with new partner and will be DTD for the first time!! I've taken my period today!!! What can I do? Should I cancel? First new partner in 17 years and this happens!

I'd just tell him. I mean, have you talked about DTD or is it just assumed.

If he's a decent enough man, he'll be fine if you tell him and see what he says. He may be just fine without doing it, he may be just fine doing it despite Aunty Flow being around. If YOU'RE not fine with it, then don't do it even if he's the latter.

You can still have fun and save it for next time :)

There is absolutely no way I could have sex with my mooncup in!

Softcups are AWFUL. I really wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

A diaphragm works brilliantly for me. I don't need it for contraception any more but it's perfect for having sex during my period. I don't like getting blood all over the place, even if he doesn't mind!

I wouldn't cancel, I would just tell him and have whatever fun you are both comfortable with.

I have no stalk on mine. It got cut off about 10 seconds after I first put it in. I feel a bit freakish now Blush. I am obviously in possession of the longest vagine known to man.

It wasn't our intention to do it, it was a bit of an "ooh hello" moment. But it worked :)

HerdyHerdwick · 15/10/2014 09:56

Shelagh I know there are different forms of the mooncup, and was wondering if yours is a different brand to mine. Mine is the actual mooncup.
I don't think there's anything wrong with your vagina! Grin
I've never actually tried to have sex with it in, but in the interests of science (!) I was thinking about this last night after posting. The vagina does lengthen when we're aroused so the mooncup would pull up much higher than its normal position. I can see how it could work.
Although mine still does have a bit of stalk so I won't try it, could be very unpleasant for the male!

Mine is the actual mooncup too. There is absolutely no stalk, definitely wouldn't advise attempting otherwise. Yikes! :o

Rather annoyingly I now have a mirena (might as well share everything!) so the opportunities for mooncup sex are vastly reduced. :o
