punched, need someone to talk to

Long story short... My on/off partner found out something he didnt like, got jealous and punched me in my face, this was yesterday and it hurt like hell. Now ive been in pain all night cant sleep so woke up at 5am its not bruised but my cheek is all swollen and in my mouth is all red and swollen difficuit to open. What do anyone sugguest do I go to the doctor or dentist I have no idea of the damage all I know is nurofen is only working for a hour then the pain back is unbearable.

Go to the hospital, very quickly followed by the police.

I'm in the US so not sure how your emergency services work but if I were you, seeing as how it's bad enough you can't sleep, I would go to A&E/emergency room and have it Xrayed. Also, please consider making a police report as no matter what XP has found out it is no excuse for physical violence.

Please go to A&E. Your jaw or cheekbone may be broken, you need medical attention. And then please report the assault to the police. It doesn't matter what your partner has found out, it doesn't justify violently assaulting you.

You need to go and see someone preferably hospital rather than dentist!

Then please report him to the police he has no right to do that to you, ever. Don't engage him any more, he will likely grovel and make out he's incredibly sorry.

In the mean time I'd take some pain killers to help the pain.

I hope you're leaving for the hospital. They will check your jaw and refer to the appropriate service.
Please tell them exactly what happened and they should report it to the police, but you should too.
And cut this person from your life. If he chases you, keep reporting it to the police.

Sounds like he may have fractured your jaw - symptoms sound the same as those my son had when he was randomly attacked.
A&E ASAP. You may need surgery, not trying to scare you, just want you to realise this needs attention. You must be feeling shaken up.

Deal with the medical emergency, then police, WA.

If you can, please let us know how you are, totally up to you of course.

Definately A and E I had similar injury years ago. It was actually a fractured jaw.

Then report the assault to the police.

Just going to give my daughter breakfast then go to the hospital to get checked, I am fine apart from the pain ive took nurofen through the night but it doesnt help so hopefully the hospital will say what damage there is. No he doesnt live with me and if the hospital tell the police then I will talk to them its painful to talk as inside my mouth is swollen on the side he punched me. It was because he found out I had met up with a friend without asking/telling him so really no excuse for his behavior. ill comeback on here later let you know how the hhospital went. Thanks all

It doesn't matter who you met. There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to hit you. You do not have to tell anyone who you are meeting if you don't want to. He does not control you. I'm glad you don't live with him. When you speak to the police ask that they not allow him near your home.

I'm glad you're going to the hospital. Is your daughter his?

Wouldn't have mattered if you'd told him you've slept with a rugby team. There's no excuse for that. He's a shithouse and a coward. Get him arrested and charged.

A crime has been committed. He's a criminal. If a random stranger had done the same thing to you, you'd be calling 999 rather than asking questions on an internet forum. Please report him and prosecute.

Please make sure you are safe and do as others have said. I didn't the first, second or even third time. If I had the situation and iutcone of the fourth time would never have happened.
