I couldn't feel his penis inside of me when we had sex.

I'm rather overweight. I was embarrassed. He tried a few positions. He is around 6.5 inches but wide girth. I was very lubricated. The vibrator didn't do it for me either nor his fingers.

I feel let down and I let him down. I had experienced no enjoyment from penetrative sex.

I'm a regular MNetter.

ONS? Married 20 years? Somewhere in between? Crap sex happens occasionally. Better to part ways and move on than waste too much time blaming yourself.

NameChangerRegMNetter · 15/07/2014 07:17

ONS, after very longtime of no sex. I think it is my vagina, this has been a 'thing' since my early twenties with different partners. Some guys were 8 inches.

I faked a lot of moaning and groaning, I think he knew Blush

It's probably not your vagina. 'PIV' doesn't do it for a lot of people. Your mistake was to fake anything, however, rather than being honest. If you pretend to be enjoying yourself then your lover will assume all is well and won't be motivated to try different techniques.

What does being overweight have to do with it?
If you have issues with loss of sensation you really need to see a gp. Do you have children? Is it related to childbirth?

scaevola · 15/07/2014 07:33

You need to see your GP.

Total loss of vaginal sensation is usually a medical issue. There are various causes, but it is treatable.

disimpson · 15/07/2014 09:12

I have the same problem mostly but my partner is a lot smaller than yours. People have suggested a vibrator but too embarassed to actually buy one! I would just like to try a larger one but you are saying that doesnt work either?!!!
Frustrated!

LittleMissRayofHope · 15/07/2014 09:22

I'm quite overweight and this is not a problem here. Once or twice I have found that I'm too lubricated to feel much going on.
You should see your gp and be referred to a gynaecologist.
Even if this is a past problem as well it would be wise to know the cause and if there is anything you can do. Also reassuring

LoisPuddingLane · 15/07/2014 09:24

Being overweight has nothing to do with vaginas.

gatewalker · 15/07/2014 09:37

Total loss of vaginal sensation can also be an emotional and/or psychological issue, and there are people out there who are trained specifically to help you return to sensation, OP. All is not lost at all. If you're interested in finding out more, PM me and I can point you in the right direction ...

rowna · 15/07/2014 10:54

I've lost sensation with a prolapse. But there can be lots of medical reasons for a lack of sensation anywhere in the body.

These sort of things can be very treatable. Be brave and go and see your GP, if only to get checked out.

flappityfanjos · 15/07/2014 11:27

Have you had enjoyment from penetration before? Because to be honest, it doesn't do it for everyone. If you used to get stronger sensations and now you don't, then get checked out. If it's never been very intense for you, that might just be how you're wired. Have you tried using clitoral stimulation at the same time?

RiffyWammal · 15/07/2014 12:33

Being overweight can have a negative affect on your pelvic floor, the nhs says so here.

OP, do you do pelvic floor exercises? I could never remember to/didn't like the sensation so I bought an electronic Kegel toner (Kegel8) - it has done wonders for my sex life. As well as tightening it makes the vagina more sensitive and orgasms stronger. It's ace!

BeatriceBean · 16/07/2014 17:56

Ive got a prolapse which I think affects me
Im worried im a bit bucket like since the last birth too :(

Lesnewth · 16/07/2014 20:57

Riffywamnal, tell me more about this kegel toner please!

Does it really work? Intrigued! I never really know if I"m doing my exercises correctly.

ivykaty44 · 16/07/2014 22:01

Kegel 8?

RiffyWammal · 16/07/2014 22:35

Yes, it really does work! There is loads of information and reviews on the kegel8 site here, there are load of reviews on Amazon too. They can also cure prolapses and incontinence apparently, although I didn't have a problem as such, I just wanted to ensure I didn't have problems in the future (have 3 kids) as I never did my pf exercises. I reckon I could crack nuts with mine now! I've never had orgasms like I do since using it, they're really strong. Sometimes the force squeezes DH out Blush

buggerboooo · 16/07/2014 22:44

What one do you have riffy? There are lots to choose from and im not sure what to go for!

RiffyWammal · 16/07/2014 23:16

They don't sell mine anymore (I've had it nearly 4 years), it's called the ultra plus but is just like this one

321zerobaby · 17/07/2014 08:53

There is a page on the Kegels which one is right for me?
Not that I've been looking or anything.

PartyFops · 17/07/2014 09:03

You mentioned vibrator, his or yours ? If yours, do you normally feel it?

Maybe you were a little over excited, and a bit over lubricated. Did you do it just the once?

Invite him over to try again WinkGrin.

Which kegel 8 device did you use? I want to buy one for tightness x
bumhead · 08/01/2021 08:00

OP some hero on MN suggested the Squeezy app for pelvic floor exercises. I have been doing it 3 times a day and notice such a difference. It reminds you to do it and I think it was free.

BlackCakeyStuff · 08/01/2021 08:39

Where you using a latex condom? They make my vagina do numb. Skyns are non latex and the next best thing to not using one.

Such as one of those Brian From Hull thingies.
