how long til you got married?

Just wondering really, started seeing a guy and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up marrying him!

How long were you with your boyfriend/girlfriend before you got married?

Im dying to hear loads of happy stories!

Knew each other just under 3 years when we got married. It's our 11th anniversary tomorrow

Been together 20 yrs, married for the last 7.

Ooo well DP and I have been together 16months, bought a house together at 11 months and talk about marriage all the time. It's my birthday in 3 weeks, here's hoping

Met September 2005, engaged September 2010, married December 2011

29 years and counting. We might get married next year.

Engaged in 6 weeks, although we both knew by the end of our first weekend together.

Married two years later when we could live in the same city all the time not just at weekends.

DH asked me to move to Australia with him on our 2nd date. I said yes! But took us 7 years and 2 continents to get married - will be together 12 years soon

Moved in together after 3 months, engaged at the end of the first year, still not married 7 years in! Life keeps getting in the way, now waiting until baby is 2, so 18 months from now..

Five years, we moved in together the day we got married. We waited until he'd got his leave to remain here, and could buy a house for us. I've always been a pretty independent person, so wasn't desperate to rush into marriage or cohabiting.

Met at 16, married at 26.
Still together now (38).

But I know a few people who met and married within months - all still happily together years later.

Met in the April. Dumped him in the September. Got back together in Nov. Decided that it was serious that Christmas. Started saving for a house in the January. Moved in as soon as I left uni, the following August.

As soon as we moved in, we started saving for the wedding. married 3 years later (having bought a house in the meantime). Had our fist child two years after that.

We have now been together 16 happy years and married for 12 .

DH said to me on our 2nd date "if we were both single I'd marry you tomorrow" (we were both with other people at the time).

19 years later we were married . If it's meant to be, it will be.

I knew the day I met him that I'd marry him.... I'd never ever wanted to marry anyone previously.
After 6/7 months he proposed, we married 6 months later. When I meet people and tell them they usually pull a shocked face - when you know, you know tho :)

1 year, 1 month, 1 week and 1 day after meeting (bizarrely!)

I didn't realise this until after the wedding when someone asked how long we had been together!

Married 4 years after we got together, although I knew after 2 weeks. Turned out we too had met at 14, just not twigged. Been married 6 years this year.
