What would you think if someone said to you on a second date "I get bored easily"?

That's what a woman said to my dad when he took her out on a second date.

I told him that if a man said something like that to me on a date I'd think he was arrogant and that that comment was designed to keep him on the back foot.

What do you think? Have I just sabotaged my dad's love life?! He hasn't been in a relationship with anyone since my mum died five years ago.

No, this woman was only three years younger than him.

I don't think younger women would go for my dad (much as he'd like them to). Maybe he'd have a better chance if he got a decent bloody haircut! Hmm

I think he should have asked about the context.

I get bored easily and I mean that. BUT I do not mean that I get bored wih people easily and I don't mean that I casually toss away good relationships or friends either because i am bored.

I am deeply and fiercely loyal if I have a partner and to my friends.

Regarding boredom I mean I am not the sort of person to be happy in a relationship that consists of going over to each other's homes and having dinner, shagging and watching TV. I feel cooped up being stuck in the house, nor do i want to spend every date doing the same thing.

So in realtionships I will drag my partner out to the movies, walks in parks and by rivers, day trips out of the city, to see historic monuments, trips to the coast, etc etc etc. There is so much stuff out there to do, don't think I'll spend it sitting on ass in the house and doing the same thing every weekend.

That it what I woud mena by getting bored easily. HE should have asked in context what she meant.
