Hello! I'm due with DD2 in 6 weeks (we already have a DS and a DD) and I've been terrified since we learnt it is a girl. All I can see around me is sisters arguing, competing for their parents' attention or simply hating one another as they grow up. Could you please share your good stories?

My sister and I got on fine as kids (we've also got 2 brothers) but as adults things have got more rocky. Mainly due to the fact at 27 she often still acts like a self centred child (which is funny because she was a really nice child), the world should revolve around her, she should never have to contribute and we should think ourselves lucky when she graces us with her presence. She can be wonderful, witty and kind at times but everyone in the family (& friends) despairs at the less lovely side of her personality so I guess it's less of her being my sister and more of her being who she is.

I love my sister. We've had some screaming rows (even as adults) but they don't last very long and I'd be lost without her.

My DSis and I used to row as teenagers. But she's my closest ally now, and I don't know what I'd do without her. She's fabulous. And she made me an auntie twice over :)

My sister has always been my best friend. We got on well as children, as teenagers, and as adults we live round the corner from each other, by choice.

My 3 dds generally get on pretty well, they do squabble, but they spend a lot of time playing together. They may say they are fed up with each other but they still choose to do many activities together, and get bored when the others are out.
