Am I the only person not to have had a 1 night stand?

I was just going to say I've not had a proper one night stand (had one night things with friends/people I've already known), but then realised I was wrong Blush

No one night stands here either. Personally I don't see the point in them, but that's my own opinion.

I'm in my 20's and I was with my ex from been 16 till 6 month ago. I don't think I could do it. I'm not confident enough

I have never had one I haven't regretted massively. They were before DH and as I met him at 18 you can perhaps see why they weren't the best idea.

I've had one night things with people I sort of knew, don't know if that counts?

Don't know If I could do it with a complete random though, would make me feel dirty, but that's just my opinion.

Haven't had many but not one was particularly memorable. The men were either too drunk or too nervous. The bluster from the pub disappeared in the bedroom. Still looking for a good ONS but not holding my breath!

I hadn't until the grand old age of 48! Technically, I guess I still haven't as the one I met then brought home on first date, came back for a return match (so therefore a two-night stand), and the most recent one (met on Pof - brought him home on first date Blush ) is coming round tonight grin]

I'm not sure whether I could have done it in my 20s, but I'm happily single now so as long as we both enjoy it there's no angst about whether he'll still respect me in the morning. I still respect me and if he doesn't I don't really care!!

(btw am a regular poster with a teenage daughter who knows my other user name!)

I have never had a one night stand.

I really thought I knew men. I knew that a ONS for me means that I am consenting to be an object for someone else without any connection, which for me means that we cease to be human beings. (note the caveat FOR ME, and that I am taking responsibility that I don't want to treat anyone like an object either).
I would watch my friends crawl home humiliated ashamed and regretful (one guy said 'I am just off to get some fags - and never came back), and thought: 'what part of "a man will do and say anything to get into your twat, and then when it's over, it's meaningless", do you not get?'

Then I got cheated on in my marriage and realised that actually I had not protected myself from hurt any more than the next woman.

Ok I'll own up to having one! Well actually the 1 night turned into 2 but that was it. I'd just come out of an 11 year relationship where ex had been unfaithful 2 me 3 times n I was very angry at the world and went out and the rest is now history. Was fun at the time but don't think I'd do it again. We are still friends and he keeps asking for more but I now know its not what I want! x

I don't think it matters really? Is it bothering you much? Some people can do the whole sex without depth of emotion, and others can't. I don't think it matters which one of those you are. The problems occur when two people with differing ideas meet, or when someone does it because they think everyone else is doing it, and then feels horrible and dirty the next day.

Do what you're happy with. Other people's sex lives are rarely as interesting as you think they are.
