How did you meet your OH

Just wondered really, I haven't met anyone yet, and having 2 young ones I don't think it is really going to happen for me. I do miss having cuddles on the sofa, slobbing out and just being comfy with someone.

At the gate of the boat yard (where my boat was stored in Mexico) 1 minute after getting out of the taxi and after 'moving' all the way from Japan.

I fell in love with him on the spot.
He carried my heavy suitcases - full of Japanese curry roux and wasabi - up the ladder to my boat.
He stood at the top of my ladder afterwards before returning to his own boat and flashed me a smile that just made my heart melt even further.

The strange this was that I had never been bothered about love and relationships before (living in the Far East kinda knocks that on the head) and was about to embark, pardon the pun, on a new dream with my boat, so it wasn't as if I was bored for something to do.

Ah, what a movie.

Met my OH through my friend. It was her fiancé's brother. That was 10 years ago, we have a DS who's 5.
You'll meet someone when you're least expecting it Smile

p.s These are all lovely stories. Sometimes from reading MN we can forget that success stories are out there too.

Through Lovestruck website...he was about the 8th person I met in three months, I was his 2nd. After we spent all night talking over a meal, and long after it was finished, and he came halfway home on the tube with me even though we lived in opposite directions, I got home and emailed my friend and told her that whoever he ended up with would be lucky to have him. I'm so glad I was that lucky person.

University, 1979. Same course, same subsid subject. We were 'just friends' for the first year.

TwllBach yours is lovely. It strikes a chord with me as my daughters are both first years. I always worry but I hope that should they have problems they will meet someone as nice as your OH.
I'm OLD and knew my DH by sight at 6th form. We went to different universities and met,in our home town,at a party. Cliche. Not what you think,I was returning from a horrible evening shift and he was sitting on the wall outside.
That was 29 years ago Shock

Agree with baypolar..this is a nice thread..my lovely OH works away a lot (he's away now and won't be back for another 2 weeks) and I'm not ashamed to say I feel lost without him and I know that's mutual..it's lovely to remember our first meeting and I'll be sharing those memories with him when he calls tonight. Reading some of the awful threads on MN makes me realize how lucky I am.

Match.com 11 years ago. I had moved to a new area and didn't know any body. He was slightly over my height requirements but said he was prepared to stoop or wear slippers!
We married 2004 and have 2 girls and a puppy .

imisssleepandwine · 08/02/2012 20:01

while backpacking around the world.... I spoke about very little Spanish and he spoke no English we communicated via a dictionary for the first few weeks. Married now with 1 dd.

I hope you find someone special

At a friend's Christmas party when I was 15. We got on well, became friends then spent an entire evening snogging six months later at another party. I've always loved his pale skin, blue eyes and black hair.

13 years later, we have three stunning DDs with his colouring!
