How did you meet your OH

Just wondered really, I haven't met anyone yet, and having 2 young ones I don't think it is really going to happen for me. I do miss having cuddles on the sofa, slobbing out and just being comfy with someone.

On a ski holiday.

Which meant that I naively assumed he could ski (previously my no.1 criteria in a man). Unfortunately he was excellent at the apres-ski. Not so much with the skiing. I'm pinning my hopes on our son taking after me on the ski front!

I also forgot to check out his postcode to ensure he met my no.2 criteria - i.e. Live within zone-2. Preferably south of the river. Turned out he lived 90 miles north in Leicestershire.

If anything, it's proof that a list of criteria is pointless I suppose!

He worked in a shop, I was a customer..I did wonder why he seemed to hover where I was looking at stuff..but he was incredibly gorgeous lol so I wasn't complaining.. one day he started talking to me, asked for my number and we've been inseparable ever since..been together 4 years now and we made one hell of a beautiful baby together last year (and he's ten years younger than me Grin

Match.com. Was just about to give up after dating a dozen or so very nice but dull chaps and logged on and saw a newbie pop up. Decided to give him a wink ( yes a wink!) and the rest is history. Seven years now, married with one child and a dog. His family still think we met on a night pig in Leeds though Blush

tanfastic · 08/02/2012 16:14

Night out not night pig Grin

BiscuitNibbler · 08/02/2012 16:15

On a work-related course, but with other companies. Watched him all week and kissed on the last night. That was ten years ago, and we married five years ago.

Peekabooooo · 08/02/2012 16:20

Online, but knew of him before that.

Antediluvian · 08/02/2012 16:22

Groovee · 08/02/2012 17:08

Blind date... 15 years later, married 2 kids and still winding each other up

FriskyMare · 08/02/2012 17:13

Through the friend of a friend on New Years Eve. Turned out we'd lived across the road from each other as students but this friend had never thought to mention to either house that she knew us. He proposed on NYE 6 years later and we've now been married nearly 16 years.

FoofFighter · 08/02/2012 17:17

At a mutual friend's party. It was somewhat engineered on their part although neither of us were interested due to recent breakups but we got chatting and just clicked :)

welliesandpyjamas · 08/02/2012 17:19

Uni

JambalayaCodfishPie · 08/02/2012 17:21

Through friends of friends.

BUT Should have 'met' on various occasions over the last ten years but just didn't. If we HAD met on those occasions it wouldn't have been the right time..... Fate, love at first sight, the whole shebang. Grin

AntsMarching · 08/02/2012 17:22

In a bar for a mutual friend's birthday party. I'm American and he's Welsh. I spent the night telling people he was English! Now knowing how much the Welsh don't like this, I'm surprised he kept talking to me. Ah well, that was 7 years ago and we're just about to have dc2

ginmakesitallok · 08/02/2012 17:23

Drunk in the queue to a club - I felt his bum and 18 years later I'm still feeling it!

SearchSquad · 08/02/2012 17:27

At work. We attended a training programme together.

Antediluvian · 08/02/2012 18:04

...what sort of a training course was that then? Grin

Hulababy · 08/02/2012 18:13

Met my DH at school, in sixth form, in the common room. That was some 22 years ago (as of this month)!

NewYearsDaysie · 08/02/2012 18:15

He's my sister's husband's eldest brother. When sis was going out with BIL (from when she was 17) I invited them along to a pub quiz. She said X was home could he come, I said why not. 6 months later DH and I were engaged...so was sis and BIL, Sis and BIL got married 3 weeks before us. Together 10 years, married 6.
