The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Christmas Party (part 1)

1000 replies

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 03/12/2010 16:22

Hello.

Welcome to The Brave Babes Bus. I'm Mouseface and I used to abuse alcohol and to be honest, there is always a risk that I'll do it again.

This is a bus journey for those who drink too much, or drink now and then, not at all, or actually aren't quite sure what their drinking means to them.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, everyone is welcome. Xmas Smile

Hello Desire I'm here Grin.

I felt so washed out that I have been slumped on the sofa reading a crap book.

My Dc has been quite ill for the last couple of days, temp 102!, but is better today, and I just feel so thankful to hear the xbox going, while i am reading said crap book!

What are you doing this afternoon ?

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 15:25

Actually, should be writing a report, and rationale for it, but have decided to give myself the day off. Only means more work tomorrow, but touch of the Scarlett O'Hara about me today!!

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 15:26

I am dossing working this afternoon:) we close up for the Christmas holidays on Friday so am not really in the humour to work Wink

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 15:30

Are you working from home?
When I work at home I procrastinate nearly as much as when I've got the ironing to do !!

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 15:45

Thankfully not Thurso or would end doing absolutely zilch! Not very disciplined Blush

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 14/12/2010 15:49

I'm BACK!!!!

Not locked up. Phew!!

Can I just say that was the most pointless meeting I have ever had with anyone in my life?

Sorry if I sound flippant, I'm not. I am grateful that there are people out there that help lots of people get through mental illness and breakdowns.

I feel relieved that I'm not mentally ill. Again, not being flippant. I have huge anxiety issues, and OCD/panic attacks but nothing unexpected.

Sorry for being a mard tart. Xmas Blush

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 14/12/2010 15:56

Nope. He doesn't want to see me again. Hmm

I'm happy going back on my ADs at the correct does, giving them a propper chance at working this time.

He actually said to me 'there are people out there that have it worse than you'

We didn't gel. I felt trapped the whole time he was here. Glad he's gone and I can just carry on.

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 15:56

Oh no, Mouse,

I am so sorry that it was pointless meeting, after all that gearing up for it.

Please tell me that it wasn't someone just talking the talk, patronisingly at you, or I will sack them. (Only joking Hmm )

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 15:57

Cheek of him to say that to you Mouse, you have to live with it day to day not him and whether someone has it worse or better than you is totally irrelevant Angry

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 15:59

Ouch Wasindie I fell a couple of weeks ago, not because of snow or alcohol but purely because i wasn't watching where I was going and tripped on footpath, I was mortified because it was in the middle of town even though thankfully no-one was around to witness my fall Blush

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 15:59

AAAAAAH Angry, just read your last msg.

So, so sorry. He never should have said that in ten million years. It was YOU he came to help, not the other people!! Does he say the same thing to them I wonder.

Right deep breaths, blood boiling big time.

Hugs Mouse, so sorry it was a waste of your time.

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 16:00

Or are you Thurso :):)Wink

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 16:00

Mouse that was for Blush, so cross didn't speak properly!

sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 16:03

Mouse that was for you!!!!
I will get sacked with that grammar!

I am thurso desire, is that what you meant?

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 16:11

Nope Thurso meant are you really joking about sacking someone :):)

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 14/12/2010 16:12

After that, he justified his comment by saying to me 'like the people in India. The floods. Imagine watching your home being swept away, right in front of you eyes'

I am both Shock and Angry at that remark.

I'm seeing my GP tomorrow afternoon. My regular GP who knows me and my day to day life. This guy came on his referral. I think my GP wanted to cover all bases.

Consider them covered.

Thanks for being angry for me. I am going to tell my GP what he said.

OP posts:
sleighrideinthursnow · 14/12/2010 16:22

DesireI shouldn't have said that Blush.

Yes, I am in a position to get someone like that into deep shit trouble, but usually refrain.

It just makes me so angry to hear of "professionals" making things worse, when there is so much help that could be given non judgementally.

Definitely tell your own GP Mouse, he can then report it.

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 16:28

Seriously can't believe the cheek of that guy and not only would I be telling my GP but I would report him. You sure he wasn't some weirdo who just walked in off the street because he certainly doesn't sound like someone who has been trained.

desiretochange · 14/12/2010 16:31

Know he didn't just walk in off the street, it's just an expression before someone takes me to task Blush

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 14/12/2010 16:39

Yep, Wasindie - you've nailed it Xmas Grin

I just looked at him and said, 'yes, actually, I am more than aware that there are people in this world far less fortunate than myself. Very aware.'

I wanted to say in hindsight - 'I never forget how lucky I am to hold my son anytime I like. I never forget about the fact I survived after botched surgery.'

'or that I have a roof over my head, food on my table and clothes on my back.'

'I'm grateful I survived my car crash 3 years ago, the beatings from my XP, the drug abuse, the nights out.'

I could have given him lots to be grateful for.

I'm in camp Wasindie though. Twat. (him, not her)

Wasindie - have you got any decent pain killers you can take?? Poor thing. xx
