Does everyone except me have a best friend - someone you tell everything to I mean

My dh is my best friend - he is the person I tell stuff too and want to see when I have news or just to chat things over with. I also have female friends and love to see them and chat but I don't have one close female friend who knows all about my life and what is going on etc. I feel that everyone else does though - is this the case? And how do I get one? (Though am not sure I want one). I had one in the past but she moved away but we are still friends but not in a talk every day way or even every week - once a month more like it.

You're not a Steel Magnolia Expat - you're a cat on a hot tin roof.

I used to be, Quattro. I'd not want to end up in the state Leigh and Brando did, though Wink.

Honestly, there are some things you learn, if you're a good person, to keep hushed in your breast.

I don't.

I'm not a great confider anyway, never have been and on the rare occasions I've opened up to someone I've found that they gossiped to others afterwards.

I keep things pretty close to my chest and if I need to talk about something personal, I tend to come here these days :)

My best friend moved far away. Sad

I still speak to her quite a bit though in a bid to lure her home. Grin

My sisters are me best friend, my mum was but she died in April.

my DP (will be DH in 3 weeks) is my best friend.

i have two male friends, three female friends, and one couple, all far away, some in other countries who i could phone up and say 'something terrible has happened, can i come and stay' but none in my own city.

i have three wonderful female colleagues/ex-colleagues who i share all my work worries, woes and ambitions with and am very close to in that sense.

i have another two female friends i can call for coffees, cinema trips etc. and DH and i are friends with a group of four couples i enjoy spending time with but don't really share personal stuff with.
