Just wondering if theres a general reason why people go seperate ways.

He had a drinking problem.

he likes to control everything - in 8 years of marriage, I never made one single genuine decision about anything. Even stuff like where the salt is kept in the kitchen.
he found fault with everything I did. I spent most of the time in the doghouse. Every time I got the answer, he changed the question, so I was wrong again. he hit me whenever he was annoyed, which was often...need any more evidence?

reading this thread, I can see that I have a lot to be thankful for though.

I was unfaithful - he found out - he agreed that i could go on having the affair as long as i didnt leave him

Have just read the rest of this thread- OMG - my ex bf also had a lot of the S&M tendencies mentioned - this was the same bloke!!!

I got tired of having to iron the bed every morning, having to fan the magazines at equal distances and watching him doing impressions of loadsamoney with no sense of irony! And he kicked me out with newborn child.... I think the last one just about did it!!
