All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you’d love to volunteer in the shop with Susan, or other unusual views.

New year, new thread. Many thanks to @LillianGish for the window pains pun! Hoping to hear a lot less from the Caseys this year and a good deal more about farming and how Ambridge is coping with Brexit, cost of living crisis, ageing population and all sorts of credible character-based storylines. Yes, I know, but one can only hope.

Oh that's so sad poor Jenny darling and poor Brian. Shula has already left and she is Brian's real life wife isn't she? Does that mean Brian will leave too?

IRL, a woman in her 90s whose daughter dies suddenly and unexpectedly would probably follow in fairly short order.

What a blow for the Aldridges. Jennifer was the glue holding that family together. Please, please don't let Brian go too. I will miss Jenny a lot. Her often acerbic exchanges with Brian were like specks of gold in the mud of the average TA episode we pan for just such nuggets. If Brian goes too, it will be mud, mud, mud.

I wonder if Brian will decide to move to the south of France or something. Or...a rebound relationship with his son's charming friend Julienne ?

I read on Twitter that she'd had a stroke, sadly. I have no way of knowing if this is true, but it would explain her sudden silence last year.

If only the producers could break with casting protocols and gather the entire clan for her funeral. It’s no more than Jenny deserves.

It would be very fitting for Tamsin Greig to be in the funeral episode.
