Clever ...

Thanks Pseudo!

EsmesBees · 13/06/2017 19:51

Thanks for the new thread.

Fink · 13/06/2017 19:53

Thanks Pseudo!

I couldn't hear much of tonight over incessant (badly trained) child talking. It didn't sound, from the snatches I did hear, that I missed much:
Lynda complaining about Justin plotting things in her absence; Kirsty and Jill discussing something nature -related; Leonie and James's massive row. Was that about it? Did I actually miss anything?

MoominFlaps · 13/06/2017 20:06

Presumably Kirsty and helen are going to fall out over the housing development

Not a spoiler, just guessing!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/06/2017 20:07

Thanks for the new thread (and the earworm), Pseudo!

Yes, that was about it. I enjoyed it.

Kirsty and Jill were looking at Adam's herbal lays/leys and saying how lovely they were. Jill was feeling like a bit of a spare part as she had put a casserole in the oven and nobody else was at home to eat it with her. Leonie and James were back for the first time in ages and it turns out they are pretty much splitting up. Poor little Mungo.

Gruach · 13/06/2017 20:12

Not poor at all! He'll be coming to live in Ambridge, surely?

Thanks Pseudo Flowers

I posted this on the last thread from Lawrence, who was asking about Patrick

Lawrence Patrick is a longtime friend of Kirsty. He would almost certainly like to be more than a friend, and would almost certainly be better for her than Chipolata Boy.

He doesn't get to speak very often but we should hear more from him imo

Imbroglio · 13/06/2017 21:53

I thought it was lovely for Lynda that Leonie confided in her. However, I foresee side-taking between her and Lilian...

Eastpoint · 14/06/2017 07:53

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo.

James & Leonie are very well written, so annoying & so much revealed in a few lines.

EBearhug · 14/06/2017 08:46

I did find that James sounds very like Justin. And the way he calls Lilian Ma has always annoyed me.

MoominFlaps · 14/06/2017 08:50

Seriously all the characters in their teens, twenties and thirties are dreadfully written. They need to get a younger SW in there!!

DadDadDad · 14/06/2017 12:04

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

I haven't done this for a while so here's a chart showing the pasting rate on these threads (all 79 of them!). Since the off-the-scale peaks from you-know-what last year, we've had one spike this year with Rob's final showdown, now we seem to have slowed considerably. Archers

Why was Jill making a casserole - in this weather?

Woman's mad.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2017 14:12

Perhaps it's not quite so hot in Ambridge? Grin

Ceto · 14/06/2017 14:27

Sounded like they're setting up for a Jill-feeling-taken-for-granted storyline. Which would be entirely justified on her part.

CeciledeVolanges · 14/06/2017 14:38

I volunteer! Although my age is essentially the only thing that qualifies me. I can sort out their equestrian storylines, though

CeciledeVolanges · 14/06/2017 14:41

I 100% agree. Anyone under 30 as written by someone who has never seen a teenager let alone been one

mummytime · 14/06/2017 16:44

I did like James and Leonie, both as bad as each other. I think Leonie sounded interested in Justin's little development (not exactly the affordable housing type though). Not sure if James is concerned with Mungo or trying to keep tabs on Leonie or a bit of both.
But getting them both in Ambridge would be fun.
Actually I quite like both Freddie and Jiohnny - maybe its just young women they have problems with?

Ceto · 14/06/2017 16:44

For some reason, though, Johnny seems to be the exception to that rule. And maybe Kirsty if she's under 30? Though, thinking about it, she's written as if she's older than that.

MikeUniformMike · 14/06/2017 16:47

Kirsty's in her mid-30s

DoctorTwo · 14/06/2017 17:56

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo. Neither James nor Leonie came across as sympathetic characters. Especiially him, constantly having to be right. I'm glad she chucked him.

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/06/2017 18:01

The mismatched lines and age of characters is across the generations;Lizzie always plays younger than she is , Kenton used to as well but Jolene has settled him down. As far as the young go ;Jonny , Josh and Freddie are fairly rounded, Lily provides some ( unconvincing ) contrast ... the main irritations are Pip and Alice ... personality and delivery in both cases!

MoominFlaps · 14/06/2017 18:12

I've been trying to get over my irritation with Kirsty and I can't. I just find her SO annoying. Not Pip level annoying admittedly.

I like Johnny, I like Freddie. Though I certainly don't think the latter is a convincing teenager (though he is much more than Lily).

CeciledeVolanges · 14/06/2017 18:18

I do like Johnny and actually I think Josh is a good character
