Olivia - I'd like to suggest an idea for a "trolling thread" emoticon for those fabricated AIBU or Chat posts - could either be a troll or subtle trit-trotting goat, or even more subtlety a Mai-tai cocktail for that wedding in Hawaii.

I vote pub, or pub sign. NOT bull as I think it'll be misused.

Pub sign quite hard to do on such a small scale so that you can still tell what it is. If you want to go down this route, I think graphically a bull is better.

As a general rule, the best icons or emoticons are the most simple. Visually I like the idea of wheat but not sure how it would be used across the site.

I can't remember if anyone suggested a cockerel?! I like that a lot but suppose it would just be used as an insult across the site. (Does that matter?!)

I know we're all in the dazzle of the latest events from Ambridge, but is there any news on an emoticon? There have been a few occasions recently where I thought [pub] (= community spirit) would have been very apt.

(But I totally acknowledge that this is not just down to what I want ).

And, as this has leapt to the top of my TIO can I put in a late bid for something suggesting "overinvestedness"?

It's a term much in use on the Archers thread but with wide applicability everywhere else on MN. But none of the already suggested icons would really fit.

Gruach - we can only hope this is flashing up on Olivia's TIO now!

Sorry been all afluster listening. Promise this isn't forgotten.
Also tis the loooooooooooooongest school holiday on record.
My two broke up on 24 March and STILL aren't back yet.
To put it in Archers speak, the day or Arsela's spoiled tea party.....
When we're all back in the Towers when the kids finally go back we'll have a think.

Actually, now I've had one of my posts directly quoted by MNHQ, I can die happily anyway...

My vote goes to a target with an arrow in the bull's eye. Ties up the bull, the archers, and other posters can use it for a spot-on comment. Sorry to tread on toes if it has already been suggested.

Oh am I not too late for this? Have been away on long and fab Easter hot and am having mega catch up... My vote is for bunting which I asked for on a previous Archer thread when we wanted our own emoticon
