So many possibilities.... A visit from the Titcheners Snr? Baby of the wrong gender? A ruined wedding? Re-housed Grundys? RuthRex?

But surely Charlie would have told Justin about the audit he was planning? And Jennifer and David had that chat with the seasonal farm worker about the culverts and and and and aghhhhhhhhh

Gruach · 25/11/2015 19:46

I don't understand what they're doing with Jenny at all.

She can't have forgotten the conversation with Stefan.

She can't have forgotten how eager Jess was to forge a life in Ambridge.

She would surely never discuss Adam's private life with someone who is, effectively, a former employee of Brian's.

While on the other hand it's been such a joy to hear of her providing the main academic support for Phoebe. Confused

TopOfTheCliff · 25/11/2015 20:39

Do we know which Oxford college Phoebe is going to for her PPE interview? When my DC went it took three days.

magnificatAnimaMea · 25/11/2015 20:44

Following the general pattern of Guardianista-Ambridge audience overlap, let's hope it's LMH and we get cameos from Alan Rusbridger Grin

FloraDiesEarly · 25/11/2015 20:52

Was Jenny going to let slip about Pawel? I didn't think anyone knew about that, but my memory may deceive me.

Gruach · 25/11/2015 21:09

Perhaps Jenny was only going to compare the run-up to Adam and Ian's Civil Partnership ceremony (with both fathers refusing to attend) to the apparently more harmonious Wedding preparations?

FinestGrundyTurkey · 25/11/2015 21:13

Do we know which Oxford college Phoebe is going to for her PPE interview? When my DC went it took three days.

I suspect they will of necessity decline to specify. There are so few PPE places per college it would be identifiable to those who are there (& in any case I bet most listeners won't know how it works).

I mentioned on another thread that in An Education, the letter came from Oxford (well, the faculty) & not a college. & that was historical. This is live!

Gruach · 25/11/2015 22:06

News! News! News!

Gruach · 25/11/2015 22:09

Oh god - I don't think it's a spoiler.

News of who's going to star in Calendar Girls.

PseudoBadger · 25/11/2015 22:16

And after you told off the poor London Spy threaders ShockShockGrin

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 25/11/2015 22:17

I think that should have gone on the spoilers thread!!

Soc is more interested in the play as an extra show for r4 now.

If it wasn't for this thread I would have stopped listening months ago

FinestGrundyTurkey · 25/11/2015 22:19

I think if it's on the Archers page on the Beeb it's fair game, Gruach Smile

Gruach · 25/11/2015 22:28

Oh PseudoSadGrinSad

I would feel more ashamed if it was about the story. But it really isn't. (Is it?)

Gruach · 25/11/2015 22:29

Olivia!

Help.

Have I done wrong?

Scarydinosaurs · 25/11/2015 22:30

BYOS yes, clearly anyone who has worked in business knows that the previous manager would be to blame for the failings of a company. How has Brian forgotten what Charlie has said to him already?? HOW?? And Jennifer! It's like they've all got fecking amnesia.

BOOP for Phoebe, Will being happy for once and Jennifer's tasty sausages.

BYOSnowman · 25/11/2015 22:33

Phoebe had better get into Oxford!!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/11/2015 22:34

Posting a link isn't wrong, surely? It's up to us whether we want to follow it or not. What would be wrong would be coming back hotfoot to this thread and telling everyone else about it, whether they wanted to know or not.

That little nugget puts paid to my theory, then. I see from the comments on the BBC webpage I wasn't the only one with that thought.

BYOSnowman · 25/11/2015 22:39

I think Olivia is ultimate judge tbh

ColdTeaAgain · 25/11/2015 22:47

Yes really hope Phoebe gets her uni place and kicks her whiney bf to the kerb.

Bit confused where this Rob, Charlie, Justin story is going. Will Rob go after Charlies job? Or will he just try and get revenge on him and get him sacked? I quite like Charlie Sad

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/11/2015 23:06

Justin does know because Charlie and he duscussed it when he came to visit. Charlie mentioned the yields and the figures and Justin said; "Of course he flounced when you brought in a consultant. Anyone would. You should have handled it yourself." Paraphrasing.

But yyJustin would realise that the fact that Berrow was not doing as well as expected and staff turnover (staff hired by Rob) is high is down to Rob. Or he would realise if he was a convingly written character and not an implausible plot device.

TheSilveryPussycat · 25/11/2015 23:15

Meant to say before, but on that programme about Ireland earlier this week, there was a robotic milking parlour. It looked pretty cool.

R4 · 25/11/2015 23:36

I can't be bothered to comment. It is all so ridiculous and non-nonsensical. My suspension of disbelief has vanished.
It's not an 'everyday tale' of Ambridge folk; it's non-credible tosh about pod people.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 26/11/2015 00:07

I wonder if they have considered sacking replacing SOC with an editor who sounds like all the other editors andwho is also the son/daughter of another editor.

Or do they think he is wonderful?

stilllearnin · 26/11/2015 09:28

I am trying to catch up. But Jenny does know about pawel - I remember her and adam talking about him.

GruntledOne · 26/11/2015 09:29

What was that stuff Justin was saying about it being one problem after another since Rob left? Surely it's only been the botulism? If the figures weren't good, self-evidently that would be down to Rob's work unless he thought Charlie was fiddling the books, which he clearly doesn't.
