Gigondas IKWYM about Lil but she has been mean to Brenda for a long time maybe the sexual jealousy side has sort of taken precedent in her dealings with everyone ( I noticed that she's not confiding in Jenny any more, which she did when before the affair proper with Paul as if J'lene's more on her wavelength)

Thing is Lilian has lost a lot of status within her family through Matt's conviction and imprisonment. (Actually this is something they've portrayed quite well...)

When she first reappeared with Scott, all those years ago, she was very much the Merry Widow who could afford to make an idiot of herself and then bugger off. Once she moved permanently to the village Jennifer and Peggy had some investment in her good behaviour.

So now she's used up all her sympathy capital in her own clan....

Interesting Something That explains the lying I suppose but that also will blow up in her face when the truth is finally exposed she will become persona non grata won't she? She'll definitely disappear then!

I should have paid more attention! I have no clear idea of how much of Lilian's money is tied up in Amside, or how exposed she is to being wiped out when Matt's adventures come to their natural conclusion.

Lilian having to tell Jenny and Peggy that she and Matt have separated is one thing - Lilian having to plead for money for the fare back to Jersey (?!) is quite another. And not something I would enjoy hearing.

I don't think all her money is in amside- there is her investment in the bull plus I always got impression there is other stuff.

The opportunity for Jenny and Peggy to do a lot of pearl clutching seems much more likely. Tho one of the things I always liked about Lilian is that there was less snobbery to her (see how she gets on with Eddie or joelene compared to Jenny and Susan). So she may not be that fussed about being chastised.

Poor Lilian. She sounded so helpless. It would have been a great story if Brenda had played Lilian and Matt against each other and scored an all expenses payed month long holiday in Denmark. But I guess she really will go to meet Matt.

Well as Fallon was born in 1985, Jolene must have been born at least 1969, more likely 1965 or earlier. So a baby would be a surprise (probably).
