Why is Lillian allowing this to happen?

FFS Lil, he's just a bit on the side. If he pisses you off just bin him. Don't start sounding so downtrodden.

I want more of Jennifer's enforced socialising with Susan Grin

LilacBreastedRoller · 18/06/2013 21:45

Grin I'll sign a petition for less wailing, more change-counting and sniffing.

My favourite moment of the last few weeks was when Susan said she didn't want Neil "rupturing himself" (I sadly don't recall the precise scenario).

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/06/2013 23:39

Forsythia! Yes! Thank you LondonMother.

Am also trying to remember the details of why Lil hates Brenda so much. Didn't B seduce L's toyboy lover? And she had a fling with Slimy James too.

I am undecided whether Brine will have his wicked way with the herdswoman or whether she and Rob will form a liaison, thus putting Hellin's nose out of joint. Or maybe they will take on the visa-less chap instead.

Spot on. Can you believe that Scott was twelve years ago?Shock Lillian obviously doesn't feel the same as JD about Ambridge being too small to be the place to harbour grudges.

heronsfly · 19/06/2013 06:37

I will sign Lilacs petition, I'm sick of Lillians soggy sobbing too Grin, its almost as if the SWs are filling up every few spare minutes with her wailing rather than having to produce a story line.

PseudoBadger · 19/06/2013 07:19

Have to admit I haven't listened for a week and I don't think I care but I'm about to catch up now on the commute

I'd happily sign a petition to give Lil a decent reason to snivel (at long last).

ppeatfruit · 19/06/2013 11:40

IMO this is TA thread Grin I remember the 'Giant Veg.' storyline too (OMG what does that say about me?) don't anyone answer that Grin. I think the Clarrie actress should tone down her 'funny countrywoman' accent.

Yes to whoever said STF up Lilian before i go bonkers too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/06/2013 13:39

I reckon Brenda is going to kill Lilian before long. I used to love Lilian but this prolonged snivelling and her being so mean to Brenda is too much.

And I don't even like Brenda.

ppeatfruit · 20/06/2013 13:49

Agree Mrs.Campbell Grin

Brillig · 20/06/2013 14:41

I agree, Lilian is now just incredibly annoying (not that I had much sympathy with her to start with tbh). And even though I'm no fan of Brenda, strangely enough I feel quite protective of her when Lilian is so outrageously rude and dismissive.

Re. my Clarrie post, I too have memories of various 'hilarious' storylines when people completely change character purely for the sake of a laborious new plot-device, but I think part of the problem for me is that 'new' Clarrie (I know she was Clarrie years ago - so confusing) has such a downbeat, mournful-sounding voice that she comes across not as jolly and dotty when she raves on about her interminable flowers, but actually deranged. It's certainly not remotely funny, to me anyway.

heronsfly · 20/06/2013 14:57

If it hadn't been for Jolene talking some sense, last nights soggy sobbing would have been unbearable, all that talk of how much she loved him, i thought she was beginning to realise that he was a nutter, Lil has never been stupid yet another personality change
I did enjoy the Ed, Jazzer and Jamie scene though Grin

GrendelsMum · 20/06/2013 16:00

If only Brenda would do the sensible thing and walk out, leaving their hopeless business in the lurch.

Do you think she has any herd management qualifications?

LondonMother · 20/06/2013 16:46

To be fair, heronsfly (what am I saying?) it's not unknown for people to talk about the recently deceased as if they were going to be fast tracked for canonisation when, as those around them often remember all too vividly, it was a very different story before they died. Lilian was starting to see he was trouble, but now all she's thinking is that he died alone, she was leaving him increasingly testy messages when in fact he was already dead, she's now stuck with Matt, etc etc. That part isn't so unbelievable but I could have got that message without hearing her wail away for what feels like most of every episode of the last fortnight.

Brenda could be the herd administrator. I bet they're going to need one. She's used to working with a prize cow, after all.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/06/2013 17:39

I thought Brenda was going to go, surely the whole finishing with Tom was getting her ready to flee Ambridge for the bright lights of Coventry or Birmingham.

Dauphin · 20/06/2013 20:40

I fervently wish Brenda would go....and 'Lilian' is such a poor actress...argghhhh...

Dauphin · 20/06/2013 20:42

Aww...but I do love the Archers (feeling very disloyal)...gosh I am saying that in my head in a very Lilian-esque way...!!!

ppeatfruit · 21/06/2013 11:05

I don't know about Lil's acting Dauphin Pheebs and Pip make her sound like Judy Dench actually !!!

What annoys me is that the SWs have changed her character sooo much. The way she hasn't realised that Matt 'knows' and moaning on and on about how she loved the psycho Paul. As i posted before she should've kicked them both out a long time ago IMHO !!

R4 · 21/06/2013 21:32

Yesterday's episode was awful. First we had Lilo Lil huffing and puffing and sighing fit to bust (if I was Matt I would have gone on holiday without her) and then moany Tony getting paranoid about Brine. I was waiting for JD to make an appearance (perhaps being snippy about Jim) and we would have had the full set!

OliviaMMumsnet · 21/06/2013 22:00

Roar at Lilo lil

tourdefrance · 22/06/2013 09:40

Just caught up just caught
What about

tourdefrance · 22/06/2013 09:42

Sorry. Was trying to say, wharf is Helen doing leaving her son with some bloke she's met 2 or 3 times??

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/06/2013 13:15

I know tdf - there's something a tad creepy about Rob with the imaginary family

Tommy · 22/06/2013 13:55

I thought that about Rob - would Henry even want to go with someone he met once on a hill? Hmm

R4 · 22/06/2013 15:56

Isn't Mrs Rob a social worker? Do you think that she sends him out to do 'secret shopper' assessments of parenting. If so Hellin failed, big time.
Why didn't she leave Henry at home. Or with new bf Emma? Or with her childcare-share lady (Rowan's mum) - what has happened to her btw?
