I was half listening when smoke started pouring out of the grill (I'd accidentally left it turned on and closed the door).

This distracted me a bit so I'm going to have to LA.

I'm not sure who was knocking on Matt's door because he was talking to the hitman (?) on the phone. Was it Lillian disturbing him?

Paul/Tom were in Felpersham. Paul was on his way to the flat when he was accosted and Tom came to his help. Maybe the excuse about the change for the meter was so he could get away so that Tom wouldn't call the police?

I enjoyed tonight's episode no end, despite not knowing what was going on, and thinking WTF where did Tom suddenly appear from?

I thought it was Lilian disturbing Matt when he was talking to the hitman?

Oh, and I thought they were in Felpersham, Paul was shocked by the attack and realising it was Matt that had sent the hitman, and was just wittering about needing change.

My latest theory: Paul will now go after Matt, whilst dopey hitman goes after Paul.

TA is obviously on a budget but even they wouldn't be soo daft as to use the same actor as Darrell would they?..... It's poss. I suppose they have similar accents he was a bit chicken and stupid why would he try to 'warn' him in the street when he knows where his flat is.

I'm also confused about Lil not confiding in Jenny (who knew she met Paul before).

I did think the hired thug might be Darrell,but his voice seemed to change after first few words.
Maybe they are using the same actor or it is Darrell

See, Matt knows Darrell is desperate for money (and he may also have worked out his involvement in doggate) so quite possible that Dopey Darrell was persuaded to rough up Paul.

BUT Paul now knows that someone is out to get him and goes after Matt, while Dopey Darrell/Hitman continues to pursue Paul.

I do hope it will all end in an exciting denouement, involving Lil being held hostage.

But as londonMother said doesn't Tom know darrell? he would've recognised him surely ? unless he was wearing a black mask and swagman's stripey sweater of course

I think the Nic / Clarrie church thing will kick things off again with Emma when she realises Nic is taking George to church.

Isn't Tom Darrell's next door neighbour? I know Tom is very self-absorbed but even he would surely recognise his NDN from the back. I'm very taken with the idea of a balaclava and a stripy jumper, though.

I'm pretty sure that Darrell isn't the hitman because I seem to recall a scene recently where Darrell was round at Matt's in person immediately before/after Matt had been on the phone to the hitman.

But Nic isn't taking George to church - she's taking her kids, while George spends time with Will checking on the birds.

Could Emma kick off when she realises that George isn't been taken to church?

I also love the idea of self-aborbed Tom failing to notice his next-door-neighbour when dressed in a stripy jumper and carrying a bag marked 'swag'.

Oh...that's blown my theory re George....I'm a week or so behind, I haven't listened to last Sunday's omnibus yet.
