nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 12:14

hows james getting on maxy?

its really warm too. Got lighter weight jackets on lovely! boys just scoffing lunch then taking Tate to nursery and p.o might take luka to park then going to somerfield to get their half price offers...this is how i live now supermarket to supermarket for offers...im mad aren't i?!

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 12:35

No not at all! i need butter, but means twenty min walk to morrisons I am really missing supermarket

Plus can't be bothered in rain now lazy thing I am.

He's doing well thanks Nic. Did a little wee, then a better wee, both on toilet and still in pants! Just going to give him lunch and a drink so watch this space ha ha

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 12:38

do you ever do your shopping online? i find thats quite good as i just literally order the offers!

oh wow he's doing great! clever little man. i must get going we have plenty of pants here too to use!!

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 12:49

Yeah do it every month, just that we run out of things!! Like I can't buy milk for the month in advance and I thought butter would last as I had loads when offers were on. I buy my meant from local butchers so that's ok. It's just if you fancy something or certain things, obviously up until about 3 weeks ago, we had somerfield too for offers and emergency bits.

Yes he is doing well. Though as you know I had no intention of doing it yet, it's only because he led the way last night!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 14:00

well thats the easiest way to do it. oh we have our shopping either del or a big shop every week..but i guess theres five of us? Just got back from somerfield...lots of men in suits discussing changing store so that might be good. Got large chicken £4 and half price frozen things like chips, fish fingers and yummy mackies ice cream!! oh and some frubes 90p! And some salad bits. Need to go to lidl now for bread/milk and look at veg. How exciting. Luka currently working his way through the puzzle shelf tho so he's happy for now. The inlaws could arrive any moment i guess as well.

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 14:09

yeah but I have to do it on my own so no car and couldn't do it on my own on the bus!! Yikes! PLus couldn't afford delivery every week, so just do one monthly shop for heavy items, non perishables. It's only because I can't be bothered to walk to morrisons anyway, mainly because it's soooooooo rubbish when you get there so to go for a tub of Flora or seomthing hardly seems worth it plus it is my last week before payday for shopping so always emty house this last week, it's make do week!

Don't know why I bother anyway, we need to lose weight and DS is eating nothing at the minute wouldn't even eat fish today. So far he has had half a slice of bread and a cup of milk.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 14:23

goodness my boys are constantly asking for food... can we swap??!

ocado delivery can be free if you select time like late evening? our del tomorrow night is only £1.49 (think would be £2.49 if under £75 tho?) people think they are expensive but i don't if you shop offers all brands are price matched to tesco's too. We get through so much in this house. Fruit i buy at least twice a week and veg. Bread/milk always buying too, 500g butter lasts just over a week i reckon.

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 14:36

yikes!! Never heard of ocado oh it's waitrose!!! Just had a look, would be too expensive as we don't hardly buy brands only tesco own etc. I buy branded coffee and tea, that's prob about it I reckon.

It's interesting say for the tea I buy, it says Tesco price match, but it is a pound more than I ever pay for it!

I only spend about £50/£60 on monthly online shop as buy meat from butchers and fresh things as and when mainly.

Don't know what to do about James and his eating. He seems happy enough......might chat to doc about it. He fell asleep at the table at lunchtime too, not done that for ages.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 14:41

oh bless him what does he have for lunch? i guess im lucky mine are good eaters but it does drive me nuts the 'what can i have now?' tom doesn't ask as much anymore but tate is constant. They will have a good breakfast...cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast. Then he will ask for lunch from a bout 10am! lunch normally sandwich cheese, tuna, cheese spread or ham with carrot sticks, pepper, cheese, tomatoes and cucumber. Maybe breadsticks with cheese spread dip instead or sausage rolls. Sometimes scrambled egss or beans on toast or maybe some pizza with all the crudite bits again.

Luka currently glued to big cook little cook drooling over the pizza they are making!!

Then they eat whatever we are having main family meal in evening.

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 15:27

Mostly fish as he loves it and eats it. Or cheese and apple. occasionally some bread and butter or crackers occasionally yoghurt.

He's never eaten much. No interest in chocolate cake etc either. Though likes sweets!

Actually I forgot, he did eat shreddies this morning.

He will eat eggs used to eat beans - now won't. Drives me potty but he gets nothing else now, so I'm not giving in to him as it were. We eat anything so i find it difficult! But we were both brought up with that's what there is, eat it or don't!!

He always eats what we have main meal unless it is something I know he really does not like. Like tonight I ma doing meatballs and spaghetti, and know he won't touch it. Anything tomatoey - so pag bol etc he won't touch. he loves chicken and gravy, in fact he loves meat and mash. Tis a right royal pain I can tell you.

As a baby he had everything, I gave him allsorts and mostly he ate it. Apart from carrot - he has never eaten that, though sometimes now will eat it raw but not often.

I do still offer things too btw and mostly he will try it, then goes yeeee ack

well lovely morning here all warm and sunny took dd to the park for an hour this afternoon and its now gone cold and overcast

my dd is quite a good eater although she goes through phases where she will go for a few weeks and hardly eat anything.

Oh meant to say my parents arrived with a bnib stokke for me so cant wait to have a proper play with it and set it all up its so exciting having a brand new pushchair iyknwim lol

Got dd some bargain clothes in tesco the other day for preschool all reduced a pair of trousers for £1.50, 2 piece top set for £2 and 3 long sleeve tops for £3 was quite chuffed with that as all her preschool stuff gets ruined

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 16:11

nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 17:44

yes cold here too...turned about 4ish..must get the rest of my washing in. got lots dry today and all ironed.

TheOtherMe · 15/03/2010 17:45

Yikes! the washing.

carrielou2007 · 15/03/2010 17:55

Afternoon

I was thinking about you too sal, I went 15 days over with dd and 12 with ds - evry day was like a year with all my preggers friends going a day or so then we had all the snow and I was willing him to stay inside!

Dd has been a good eater (gets it from me!) though I struggle with portion sizes thinking she needs more and does not often finish it then I feel gulity for having given her too much. I really try NOT to do the just one more/clear your plate thing.

Thing is, if she they not having enough you would know??

Just going to get my second lot of washing in, the first when I ironed it smelt divine

No YM bag again today, bought it last tue, was posted fri so if it were second class should really have been here today?? Bound o come tomorrow whilst I take dd to playgroup then I won't get to the sorting office in time before it closes. Patience!!

maxybrown · 15/03/2010 18:21

I don't spend a £100 though to qualify for free delivery though handy to know the other me thank you (i can't get used to your name change!!)

Carrie I know what you mean about if they've had enough, I have gotten very good at keeping a mental diary for him and he hardly eats anything, ever, but yes, he does always look generally healthy! Wish i could be like that!

So far he had one small cup of milk, some shreddies and half a slice of bread.

Some days he has basically nothing until dinner. Then he has a cup of milk before bed. I give up though tbh, just every now and again it concerns me, though recently he has lost a bit of weight and he's grown so need to keep an eye on that.

OOh I just remembered I posted something this morning about fleeces for a size 1 -2 year old boy. It doesn't have to be fleece but they are easy to look after.

I like greys and red - I think there is too much blue, etc. Also green is quite nice.

Josh had a lovely fleece last year, stripey one that was handed on from a friend in bright colours but I haven't seen anything like it this year.

I asked where she got it from and she said it was handed on from someone else.

nicolamumof3 · 15/03/2010 19:47
