Title in honour of my new spitfire that is coming

Just back from nursery run and it is stunning today. I had to take my coat off. Just when i have a footmuff on order and a jane nest plus arrives today. Stil we all know how changeable the weather is. Daniel hates getting in any pram now and wants to walk without holding hands. It is a nightmare and he has dropped his afternoon sleep which adds to the kaosk when i take olivia to nursery. He never wants to leave and does not want back in the pushchair.

Nic my nephews where 9 and 7 so very aware of what was going on. They are great kids but their dad never been one of my fav people as never been very hands on. Always late for school and tend to look after their selves in the house like cooking and running their own baths etc. We have had words but really it is up to him to a certain degree and don't want to upset the boys causing and atmosphere. The eldest one does his own clothes shopping would you believe. They always come to my house and scream not another new buggy !!!! They think i am a bit mad.

nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 14:21

oh basl thats given me a lump in my throat as my tom is similar age (10, 11 next month) must be so very hard for you to watch.

basl daniel sounds just like my luka a couple of months ago. will he sleep in buggy? luka has really turned a corner he's 2yr 7m now and much more co-operative i did the unthinkable yesterday and let him walk into town with me he held side of buggy all time was good as gold in all the shops etc too. he would never have done that 2m ago would have just run off.

im not getting too excited with this weather due to rain tomorrow!!

basl · 02/03/2010 14:33

I remember the time you had with luke [smile. I will look forward to the next stage when he holds hand or the buggy. He runs like mad and today i put some reins on that i have for the highchair. I felt he was much safer but he hated it. Too many cars at the school to let him run by himself. Funny Olivia would love a push up the road in the buggy.

nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 14:37

yes they regress again don't they? how old is dd? as Tate was in pushchair today to swimming whilst luka at nursery and Tate is 4.2yr!

what about one of those littlelife backpacks for daniel? im all for reins tho in a dangerous area but tbh i just used to force luka into pushchair couldn't risk it too many people could have easily run out of gate into road.

basl · 02/03/2010 14:51

Olivia will be 5 in July but she loves it in the buggy if she gets a chance. I am going to get one of those littlelife bags just looking at them as we speak.

nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 15:50

i like the bee ones!

5inthebed · 02/03/2010 16:10

FOund you all!

DS2 had a Bee one, he looked lovely with it on.

So after having to get my fridge fixed, my bloody hoover AND tumble dryer stop working at the weekend. So no new pram for me this month as had to buy a new hoover and pay for the dryer to be fixed.

Comfy, sorry to hear about your neighbour. Were they very old?

mummc2 · 02/03/2010 17:02

Help needed please? my DD is 2.4yrs and wants to walk everywhere so getting rid of the ziko i have but wanted to get a little pushchair for days out or travelling.

No idea what to get so thought would ask you all as you seem to know everything. I need something very light thats long enough to house a toddler and comfy but folds small enough to possibly store under stairs when not being used.

Any ideas?

lillypie · 02/03/2010 17:13

volo?

mummc2 · 02/03/2010 17:29

was looking at quest cos other DD had it until 4 so seemed big and only weighs 5.5kg but was also thinking of Zia cos how small it folds but dont know wether seat unit will be big enough?

Needs to lie back as that tends to be the only time she wants a buggy when shes tired and wants to sleep

basl · 02/03/2010 17:36

MUMMC Zia not a popular one, i liked that but the true experts put me in the right direction. I have the bjcm but i think the quest is a good choice for you.

Size0HereICome · 02/03/2010 17:37

Thank you for all the welcome messages.

My list of prams are: a green luna, hate it. In fact someone is looking to buy it tonight.
A big urban detour, love it but heavy and bulky. A black maclaren from when dd was small. An unknown in the loft at my gran's and am awaiting my new red frog which i am v excited about!

I see clothes have been mentioned. Has anyone seen any nice dresses anywhere? Got a wedding in april but nothing to wear. Will obviously be a size zero by then

nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 18:28

you can't beat a quest!

size0 i always love coast for dresses have you looked there?

maxybrown · 02/03/2010 18:45

Well I thnik I made an idiot of myself at speech therapy sigh

on a plus note Next let me swap all of the clothes, hoorah! They had a new appliqued elephant t shirt in too, very sweet.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 18:52

why? what happened?

shame about next clothes i was looking forward to a browse in maxy's shop. i need to get boys swim trunks i like the two packs on next atm.

Size0HereICome · 02/03/2010 18:55

What happened at speech therapy? You ok?

Nicola, I looked in coast at the trafford centre but not a huge selection. Think they were waiting on summer stock. TRying to find something that I can take on hols too.

Always give dh the price on a per wear basis! Works a treat!

nicolamumof3 · 02/03/2010 18:57

ah yes good idea like that!!

when i wandered past there last week they had loads in the normal strapless styles. april is tricky tho could still be very cold?

maxybrown · 02/03/2010 19:03

Urgh, well.........towards the end when they were giving the homework out, and I'm sat there thinking oh god there is no hope for him, i already do this at home...I got upset how bloody embarrasing. Anyway, everyone was very nice and they got me to stay behind, where I stayed for another 45 mins!! They were really helpful and are going to refer him fir a hearing test (though don't think they think there is an issue either but just want it be something else ruled out) and also at the dental hospital to check all is ok. then at least she said if all is fine there, it is just some hard work from all of us. She spent a lot of time with James though, was very nice.

I might have to show you what i got Nic, just because i am sad like that, but also because i know you are as equally as sad as i am that is said with endearment btw!

Ooh Size) are you near Manchester?

OP posts:
basl · 02/03/2010 19:08

Evening, Maxy it has been a day for it hasn't it. It must be so hard for you and dh. Just want the best for our children. I am sure that if hard work is all that is required there is no doubt in my mind James has the best parents to tackle the job. Stick in there sure it will pay off in the end. xx

maxybrown · 02/03/2010 19:11

Thanks basl.....sometimes not so sure, but know you are right. I do miss my friends at times like this

Anyway, enough of that!

OP posts:
basl · 02/03/2010 19:15

Good about the next stuff being returned, well for you it was. I have to say i was looking forward to seeing it as well. How silly is that. I have a next directory and online accesss and STILL want to look at your trail. You do pic the coolest of clothes. I think if i just had Olivia i would have continued to shop like i used to. She used to have boxes upon boxes of unworn shoes and clothes when she was little. I did really like the snowsuit you were selling but i think he is a lot smaller than i think. The trespass coat drowns him and fits olivia but happy to hang up for next year.

Divatheshopaholic · 02/03/2010 19:16

Maxy, hope you are ok? I have said before, i have two friends with two boys each,a nd they started speech therapy after 3rd bday. Please dont stress yourself out, I know you woried. He does communicate, i saw him. He will just crack one day, you will be surprised. Ds did not speak til after xmas, He was 2yr 4m.

maxybrown · 02/03/2010 19:37

I am thank you, it is just so disgeartening, and he is very different from the other two children there.
