Pushchair recommendations - toddler and newborn

Looking for pushchair recommendations for a 3/ nearly 4 year old and newborn. I’m due in September. My daughter will be 3 months away from turning 4 then. She still uses the pushchair a lot although I do encourage her to walk more now. I’m hoping she’ll have outgrown it more then but feel we may still need to have a double one to begin with at least (although I really don’t want to, they’re too bulky!). Any recommendations for a double pushchair suitable for these ages that’s easy to get about with and fold away into the car. Or is it worth just getting a buggy board?

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you've landed here looking for double pushchair recommendations, we've recently updated our best double buggies page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. I wouldn’t get a double. Most the seats will be tiny for a 4 year old, and heavy.

Get a pram where main seat can lie flat for newborn but be used for almost 4 year old also when needed the first 6 months. Ie no carrycot type. If it’s parent facing it’s easier to use buggy board imo. Then you can swap baby into sling and 3/4 year old into pram on long days out, until she gradually outgrows.

The old Bugaboo bee is good for this if you can find one second hand.
