Is it insane to get an orange pram?

Went shopping for my pram for my first baby who I'm expecting in a few months.

I'm very inexperienced with babies and I know very little about what to look for in a pram, so I found the process really helpful. We have a small car so we are limited in what we can buy, and we found that we were between the Egg2 and Venicci unlike travel systems.

The shop we visited only had blacks, greys and neutrals in both and I found I really hated the look of rhe Venicci upline despite absolutely loving how quick and easy it is to fold, and how lightweight the system is.

I slightly preferred the egg2 but I still hated the colours it came in, bur when I went online I found that it comes in orange (paprika) and - bonus - this colour is 500 quid cheaper than the neutral colours I didn't like.

Has anyone bought a brightly coloured pram ans regretted it? I'm worried that I'll get fed up of it, even though I absolutely love the burnt orange colour (I'm very into mid-century/70s vibes) but as I'm going to be using this for rhe next 3 years on a daily basis, I'm wondering is it safer to get a neutral colour?

Yeah get it! Love the colour and it won't show up the dirt much so win win

Cakeorchocolate · 14/05/2023 09:42

Of course it's not insane, why would it be?! Get whatever colour you like - as you said, you'll be spending a lot of time with it!

WunWun · 14/05/2023 09:43

I like it. I would get it

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 14/05/2023 09:43

Get whatever you like! You're the one who'll be pushing it.

BananaCocktails · 14/05/2023 09:43

nope not insane at all in fact it’s really lovely. I did get a very light bright pink pram which got filthy really quickly so you need to keep this one extra clean
It’s a lovely muted colour go for it .. black is bo boring ( but stays looking cleaner lol)

TheFormidableMrsC · 14/05/2023 09:44

It's perfectly fine! I had a very bright pram for my first child. Primary colours of blue, green, orange and yellow. I loved it as it was a bit different 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I had DD we got a Cosatto travel system that was green-yellow & patterned. Loved it then, loved it through both DC.
Get what you want - its not a fashion parade.

Had this one years ago. It’s brighter in real life than this photo. :)

I love the cosatto systems so much! They are what I would ideally have gone for but the size puts them out of the running for us, which is such a shame. I feel like because I wear black a lot personally that people will expect a black or grey pram but I really really love the paprika option so much more than the neutrals.

Please get orange. We got the Cybex Cloud Z in Autumn Gold (orange) and it makes me sooooo happy.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 14/05/2023 10:02

Get it! It's the pale neutrals that are insane colours for prams!

I had a red P&T many years ago and my friend had a bright, bright yellow pram. I would have so got orange of it had been a choice.

Incognito2023 · 14/05/2023 10:10

Please get it, it’s fab!

DancingWithYouInTheSummerRain · 14/05/2023 10:13

I had a cosatto giggle 2 for both of mine, bright blue frame, white and orange wheels and the actual pushchair/pram/car seat was a dark grey with big rainbows on in yellow, white, blue and orange all bright and happy....go for the orange! And congratulations!

PimpMyFridge · 14/05/2023 10:14

It's gorgeous. Black is boring.

Busybeezs · 14/05/2023 10:15

Aaaahhh thank you all! I'm absolutely sold!!!

I'd save 'insane' for a white pram.

any colour is fine, but the closer to white the more insane the choice us.

doubke check on practicalities then buy whatever colour floats your boat. Big plus when it's cheaper than colours you don't like.

Grimbelina · 14/05/2023 10:20

I had an orange bugaboo! It was brilliant, good for either sex, could always see it too. I was given it secondhand so didn't choose it but loved it. Hate black and grey ones.

SillyBub · 14/05/2023 10:22

I had the orange Bugaboo back in the day and had an orange Maclaren pushchair when not using the travel system. Orange is the best.

AinsleysOnions · 14/05/2023 10:26

I read your title as 'is it insane to get an orange perm?' so was coming on to say yes, it definitely is.
Pram is lovely!

Juiceboxxy · 14/05/2023 10:31

It will attract bees and wasps and I'd hate that

mynameiscalypso · 14/05/2023 10:33

I don't see a problem with it at all - I'm pretty sure there's one of these prams at our nursery. It's always worth having a colourful one IMO so you actually recognise it. We had a dark blue bugaboo bee when my DS was a baby and there were literally a thousand of them at any baby class I went to.

You are definetly over thinking. I can't imagine anyone gives a shit what colour pram another person chooses

piglet81 · 14/05/2023 10:38

I had an orange pram and loved it! Got a really garish rainbow striped fleece cosytoes for when he was out of the bassinet part too. It helped to make me smile on the 500th lap of the park with my cot-refusing non-sleeper…

wibblewobbleball · 14/05/2023 10:41

Go for it. I have a lovely sage green pram. I'm often complemented on it.
