Babyzen Yoyo - not sure I like it

Was so excited about this. And yes I did start a similar thread about my BJCM GT which I now adore Blush

Have had a little play, haven't put fabrics on yet but..hmmmm...the handlebar is very high isn't it? I'm only 5'2 but have never had a problem with other high handlebars. This one just seems very high.

Argh, I don't know. Was bought for a very specific reason (16 days on a ship, extremely long and narrow corridors to cabins etc, limited storage space blah blah). Now I think I might be better re-buying a Bee...

I had mine on eBay for a couple of weeks but it didn't sell. It's great but I just find the handlebar too high for me.

Stop it Tiggy, my credit card has suffered enough at your hands!

Tiggywunkle · 20/06/2013 23:54

But its good....honestly its good....I want to sing and dance and rave about how good and neat and easy to use it is. I mean to have a small folding (and it is small folding), sturdy feeling chassis, with a parent facing seat with an upright seating position and with three recline positions is just BLISS without all the other pros (like the FF seat, and the larger toddler seat and the carrycot and car seat options, high / low handle options, not huge but reasonable enough basket etc). In fact I ought to start a whole thread rejoicing about the Oyster Gem.....it should be a standard issue pushchair at birth and then we wouldn't need this pushchair board any more Wink!
(But no it wont suit if you go off road, or need to carry a weeks worth of shopping home - although I bet you could get creative!)

Come on then, how much and when's it out? Grin

chocolatemartini · 21/06/2013 11:25

Ooooh really? Is it that good? Sounds like just what I need

chocolatemartini · 21/06/2013 11:28

... How heavy? How wide? Looks fab Grin

Oyster Gem...
I LOVE IT - its staying here forever!!! (Hides the Gem from Babystyle!) I just keep reaching for it because its the perfect size for everything. Its just a bit more sturdy than say a Zapp, but not big, really light to lift and carry. I can even put it in my car boot open which is pretty cool. I just LOVE the parent facing seat because its got the 3 recline positions but one is an upright seat which my nearly 3 year old LOVES! He just looks super comfy in the seats - whether its the small seat PF or FF or the larger toddler hammock seat FF. My tall nearly 5 year old looks extra super duper comfy in the hammock seat (not that she rides in a pushchair but my youngest will do so its good information gathering for him).
Its about 59cms wide when open (my measurement), but the wheels slide neatly in when folded.
I dont know the weight - I will have to put it onto some scales - but it also depends which seat you have on, I guess. Remind me to do this sometime :)
Its just fabulous - sighs - absolutely fabulous!! It hasn't even bothered me that its 3 wheels - In fact I have barely noticed - and usually I do prefer 4 wheels. Its so grounded and sturdy.

I think it will be out later this year but Babystyle will be the people to ask about price and due date. I merely get to play :D and talk about how much I like it - and as you will know, I only rave about the good stuff - and the Gem is GOOD!!!!

Will they do a 4 wheel Gem, Tiggy?

Tiggywunkle · 24/06/2013 22:12

I dont think so - certainly I have not seen any hint of it. Plus one of the nice things about the Gem is that the wheels kind of glide together to create the neat fold. Its remarkable stable.
I guess the 4 wheel version is called the Oyster ;)

WeAreSix · 24/06/2013 22:23

Haha yes.... But I have that!

Had a look at my ever faithful P&T E3 sport at the weekend. I loved him lots! Very, very worn out now which I'd a shame as that'd stand nicely in my S-Max boot
