Ok so I am either gonna get:

Maxi Cosi Mura 3 or 4 - (dont care which!) quite expensive but a fair few second hand that I can afford

Britax Vigour 3+ - Cheap as chips all over the internet second hand and I like it!

Petite Star Aruba - I can buy this new as its not very expensive but it has crappy non air wheels so its a last choice really!

So... which one should I go for? I have to pick one coz Im watching loads on ebay and I dont know which one to really go for!

Anyone got a preference?

That's the fun seat an option later for toddlers ... You get some real bargains on ebay

KateShmate · 09/04/2012 19:24

I haven't had either of these buggies, but after googling them I definitely prefer the Britax.
Just looks like a good, strong pushchair (am not saying the Mura isn't!), plus it has a bar on the front, which I think I remember you saying you wanted?!
Think the seat looks bigger than the Mura too, but obviously don't know for sure as haven't got one!

WelshCat · 09/04/2012 19:26

oh i see! well thats a nice idea!

and yeah im so sick of wathcing auctions and that bloody woman hasnt got back to me about the mura! ive set a sniper for a mura auction ending soon and im gonna watch hollyoaks!

i was wathcing a brand new britax b smart 4 and it went for £67, how mental! why didnt i bid on that!

WelshCat · 09/04/2012 19:27

KateShmate, yeah its a dilemma lol, i havent seen either in real life so i just cant decide!

the mura is gonna come in much more expensive unless this gumtree lady sells me hers, and they seem to look better used that the britax, which you cant even get new apparently!

5inthebed · 09/04/2012 19:33

I'd got for the Britax.

Can I jsut chuck in the Hauck Infinity?

HoneyBunnyDragon · 09/04/2012 19:34

The bsmart is the vigour upgraded, an older version of the vigour exists but under the fisher price branding, iirc.

You do occasionally see new vigours at bargain prices.

The vigour is still one of my most favourite pushchairs.

HoneyBunnyDragon · 09/04/2012 19:34

Oooh yes the infinitys lovely too....

oreocrumbs · 09/04/2012 19:41

I'm back what did I miss?

Am quite surprised to see every one saying the Mura is heavy, mine really isn't. Its just coming up to a year old now so I'm wondering if there was a newer version? Would that fit with when others were trying it?

WelshCat · 09/04/2012 19:44

5inthebed, i hate Haucks! I dont know why, just hate them!

so now the vigour is winning yes? and where are these new vigours? i want one!

OP posts:
WelshCat · 09/04/2012 19:51

i just looked at the inifinty and its actually quite nice :)

5inthebed · 09/04/2012 20:30

I'm not a Huack fan, ut the infinity is nice, and great budget wise.

I'd go for the Britax.

thisisyesterday · 09/04/2012 20:41

i would vote for the vigour

mura is heavy and ugly.
don't rate petite star in terms of quality

britax are nice, an if you want to use a car seat with it the baby safe is one of the safest. win-win!

WelshCat · 09/04/2012 20:50

ok vigour is winning then! all i gotta do is find a nice one!

OP posts:
KateShmate · 09/04/2012 21:04

What region are you in? At least then we can help search for a Vigour that is close to you!

WelshCat · 09/04/2012 21:17

im in cardiff, but i dont drive so cant pick up!

would i be wrong to want a cosatto cabi? all the reviews are terrible but they look so nice!

I loved my Vigours...I had 3 in the end...I started with a tuquoise Vigour 3, then got a red Vigour 4+ till i saw a lovely cream 4+...I used the air tyres off the 3 and put them on the 4+ chassis...Great combination...I've not had a Hauck Infinity but do have an I'coo Vario which is basically the same chassis but the Vario/Pacific seat is different, much like a really comfortable arm chair...I LOVE my I'coo almost as much as i loved my Donkey...It is seriously easy to push, i just love it!!!

WestWinger · 10/04/2012 07:45

I had a Mura and regretted getting it. It is quite heavy, the raincover is ridiculous, the pushchair is a pain to put up and down unless you always have it forward facing, much wider than most other pushchairs - couldn't get down some of the aisles of my local shop - and takes up a lot of room in your car boot. My chum has the Britax and she loves it....

fluffygal · 10/04/2012 07:59

I have a vigour and it is awful. Got one as my friend recommended it. The seat is just plain uncomfortable, DD would slide right down in it and I would have to keep pulling her up and the straps would dig into her nappy where she was sliding down out of the seat. The seat is like a straight board, so nowhere for their bum to sit in comfortably. I think I used my vigour 3 times and it is just sitting in the garage now. Haven't used it in months- DD is 18 months- so maybe the seat is ok for an older child? Also whenever I would go down a curb the front wheels got stuck and I would have to pick up the pram to reset them, not fun if you needed to cross the road quickly.

WelshCat · 10/04/2012 08:58

oh no! lol and i was all set on the vigour!

i guess all pushchairs have at least one bad review, but you gotta listen to them!

as sexy as the mura is i think i dont want it now, there are more people against it than for it! i only just thought it might not even fit in my house/doorways coz i love in a teeny back to back terrace!

poooooop any other options then? i just want something that isnt a rickety stroller, anything with 3 wheels (or 4 air/chunky ones) that gives DS a comfy ride and me a bar handle thats high enough!

OP posts:
WelshCat · 10/04/2012 09:00

oh no, now the woman with the blue mura just said she can bring it now!! argh!

OP posts:
WelshCat · 10/04/2012 09:05

f*ck it, im taking the mura! its only 4cm wider than my current pushchair so im gonna measure my door quick and order it!

OP posts:
HoneyBunnyDragon · 10/04/2012 09:24

Welsh Cat, if you don't like it stick it on eBay with carriage - you know you'll get a good resale price.

WelshCat · 10/04/2012 09:36

thats true, im paying £100 for it and its in 'Excellent' condition apparently, so i should be able to at least make my money back!

im excited now though :)

fluffygal · 10/04/2012 09:46

Oh yes, everyone has different experiences, my friend loved her vigour and used it all the time!

Tiggywunkle · 10/04/2012 11:04

That's the first bad review I have heard of the Vigour. Everyone seems to love it even the hard to please Pramaholics of this forum - I think me has had several! They rave about it enough to make me want to try one!

Meanwhile I loved the Mura - the seat is sooooooo supportive for all age children. But it is wide, the fold is bulky and the access to the basket is restricted. But if I could leave it up in my hall, I woudnt hesitate to get another.
