im so jealous of you all with your phil and teds and bugaboos etc!

i have a second hand mothercare xtreme which is held together with garden wire. DS is 19 months old and he isnt walking yet so i know i need another years worth of pushchair but i dont know what one to buy and im poor!

i was hoping to get him a new one, like brand new. but i bidded for a graco citi on ebay then read reviews saying it was pooooop so bailed on buying it (not good i know)

but i want a 3 wheeler with decent suspension coz the one i have now has lovely air filled tyres and it soo nice to push, its just broke. and it seems silly buying one just the same.

so what do it do? hold up a pram shop?

I think you need to have a short list and then people can go hunting :)

The Mura is one of the most comfortable pushchairs there is and can easily seat a 3 year old.

Have you posted your budget?

WelshCat · 08/04/2012 22:17

no, lol im stingy as hell lol. i want one for under a hundred quid!

and i doesnt have to be parent facing, i didnt mean to mislead!

i used to have a concord neo and i loooooved it but it teeny tiny and my son grew out of it at like 14 months.

Hi well I have an ICandy Apple (I'm tall and so is DH) and can't recommend it enough - but with any air filled tyres go see a cycle shop and ask them to put slime in the wheels for you (it's liquid rubber solution - brand name slime - which stops you getting a flat tyre), will cost about £15.

If you become an NCT member you get priority entry to the nearly new sales and tbh i recon I saved the cost of my membership in the first ten minutes of shopping Grin find a sale near you here

Good luck - keep us updated on what you get Smile

i have narrowed down my list to

my child pinto/mezzo
maxi cosi mura/elea
nania beebop
petite star aruba/kurvi

they all seem to have good reviews and tall handles!

i know youre all probably bored of pushchair hunting and want to go to bed, but i shall be searching for hours yet!

I bought a new maxi cosi loola for 129 including postage on ebay. Its a whole travel system and worth 400 quid and its new. There are loads like that on ebay

@ Hypatia, I think it's just that they're quicker than me and half the fun of buying at auction is the anticipation, like I said no offence meant but I've never used a sniper bid thingy and I don't want to! I only find them unfair cos they're faster than my fingers and you can set them to bid at a very specific time!

I'm dealing with a poor Internet connection here so need all the help I can get! I'm also a bit of a technophobe hence I've had my iPhone almost a year and it still does something everyday that I didn't know it does and gives me a surprise!! (no, not the same thing every day- that would get tedious!!)

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 08/04/2012 23:05

I'm not fussed about the adrenaline rush of bidding myself last minute, but I am lazy and easily distracted so I prefer snipers. I'm not offended by your comments about them, I'm not sure how I could be offended actually! [bugrin] If they're not for you that's fine, but they are for me. [buwink]

Welsh, I wouldn't include the Aruba as I can't see it being nice to push. The Beebop doesn't look very good quality to me, but they are really cheap. If forward facing is ok, then also look at the Baby Jogger City Classic and Mountain Buggies.

Tiggywunkle · 08/04/2012 23:55

To be honest, using a sniper isnt a lot different to sitting until the last few seconds and putting in the absolute maximum you can afford in. You never bid in small increments to win on Ebay! You put the most in and let Ebay bid for you - You will only pay just over whatever someone else put in as their maximum. Or you sit with 3 windows with different amounts in and fire them off one by one in the last 10 secs if someone bids against you! Theres no time to put fresh amounts in!

Tiggywunkle · 09/04/2012 00:03

Its more than your £100 budget but this is a little gem: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/baby-jogger-city-elite-/280860766092?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7584914958860096054 It shouldnt be too hard to get the parts / a new wheel. The wheels are supposedly covered under warranty unless its damage as such IYKWIM. But if you could get it fixed its worth a lot more than this. They are over £300 new.

Have you looked on the pram boards on here? Sometimes there is a good bargain.

forevergreek · 13/04/2012 12:00

The mura IMO is v heavy. Up to a year ok then after with older child it literally was nicknamed the beast!
