Tempted to get a BJCM as my Quest is getting a bit tatty

Are they any better? Easier to push?

I can't fault my BJCM4. It's fab.

Tiggywunkle · 09/01/2012 21:57

And I won't ever get another buggy type pushchair again :o

emsyj · 09/01/2012 22:30

I've got a BJCM and no complaints. It's great.

teaandbiscuitsplease · 09/01/2012 23:18

No contest - quest the worst pushchair I've owned, BJCM by far the best. You'll wish you'd swapped a long time ago!

Colliecollie · 10/01/2012 13:11

I didn't like the BJCM!! But I'm short and handles were too high, I found it bulky, big when folded but the folding was of course brilliant.

EldonAve · 11/01/2012 11:03

Thanks

If you are short then the Britax B-Agile possibly slightly better spec wise and less money but very similar :)

codandchipstwice · 11/01/2012 13:03

I've just bought a city micro from kiddicare for £80 and then 4% cashback - i did want a bjcm but as DS is 3 there really is no point spending a lot of money

I'm hoping to get the mini bigger front wheel to see if it fits on the micro too

Pootles2010 · 11/01/2012 13:06

Bjcm fine for me, and i'm only 5ft 2! Can't fault it really.

Thirstysomething · 13/01/2012 21:10

BJCM bigger to keep around than an umbrella folding buggy, but no contest for me, I have both BJCM and BJCE and love love love them both - constantly hoicking children out of them to show people how brilliantly they fold. If you are in and out of the car a lot, there is no contest, BJCM all the way because you can hold the baby/toddler with one arm and fold and lift the buggy into car with the other.

EldonAve · 11/02/2012 10:46

I'm now thinking the BJCM is too wide

OP posts:
Nagoo · 11/02/2012 10:49

BJCM no complaints here. Doesn't strike me as wide.

lots of storage space, never tread on the wheels :)

Catonkey · 11/02/2012 10:53

I adore my BJCM and in fact I bought it after lurking on the pushchair threads for ages and hearing how great it was over and over! I have the 3 wheeled version (I have a soft spot for 3 wheelers) but the 4w version looks great too. I live in a tiny house and have limited boot space, no issues with storage. DD (7.5 mths) loves it too :)

Woodlands · 11/02/2012 10:59

I feel well-qualified to comment on this as we recently replaced our Quest with the BJCM. The bjcm is fab - much more comfortable and roomy for DS, more comfortable to push (esp for my 6'1" DH), you can push it one-handed and the folding is excellent. DS sleeps brilliantly in it which he never did in the Quest. On the downside it's a struggle to fit into the boot of our Fiesta, and it is a bit wide. But I definitely prefer the BJCM.

boysenberry · 11/02/2012 11:48

I don't like my quest. It's been hard on my back to push. Would love to sell it and get the bjcm4.

EldonAve · 11/02/2012 11:49

It appears to be 61 cm wide - so almost as wide as my mountain buggy

OP posts:
Lifesagame · 11/02/2012 11:54

Seriously? What would annoy you more though... a pushchair with a few cms extra width on the back wheels but otherwise near perfect or a pushchair that is narrower but has loads of other niggles like a useless, flappy hood, cack-handed recline and a push that's quite hard with 2 hands, let alone one? Guess it depends how important the width really is to you.

If you can't get round shops its generally not because your pushchair's too wide, it's because the shops have decided they need to cram as much as possible in and have made it completely inaccessible. I speak as someone who often tries to negotiate shops with my mum in her wheelchair. Please don"t let those few cms put you off the BJCM... I think you'll regret it if you do.

EldonAve · 11/02/2012 16:36

but I already have a mountain buggy...

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 11/02/2012 16:45

Theres no comparison though between a MB and a BJCM for fold, weight, function etc. and your original question was which one should I choose.

Are you really wanting to find a narrower pushchair than your MB that pushes easily?

EldonAve · 11/02/2012 17:38

yeah I often get the question wrong
I hadn't realised that the BJCM was as wide & I find the size of the MB is annoying
folding is fairly irrelevant for me

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 11/02/2012 18:36

What age is your child? How much will you do with it? ie lots of walking or nipping into places? Anything else?

EldonAve · 11/02/2012 18:42

18 mths
I use the MB most days, it's annoying in some cafes but mostly ok
Quest gets occasional use - holidays, in the car, on the train etc

OP posts:
BikeRunSki · 11/02/2012 19:08

I have had both. Hated Quest, adore BJCM. It has never struck me as being too wide. If you want narrow, the M&p Pulse is so skinny you can count it's ribs, but dreadful in every other way.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 11/02/2012 20:31

How about a Britax B-Agile then? It's very similar to the BJCM, but is a two hand unfold as it has an auto lock. It has a shorter handle height, but is only 58cm wide.

EldonAve · 12/02/2012 17:24

maybe I jsut need to use what I've got
