thisisyesterday · 03/12/2011 21:30

ooooh! i have not heard about it either, but am intrigued..

mummyhj · 03/12/2011 21:42

definatly right, the guy in the shop said they are being made in the same factory as the i candy and are due for release in march

hm weird, there is nothing thrown up by a quick google.

am trying to think of other doubles coming out soon that he might have mistaken it for.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 03/12/2011 22:42

I have spread a few feelers out but I haven't heard anything so far. Are you sure it's not the new Jane Twone or the revamped Hauck Duett? It sounds like you have good information though.

saoirse86 · 04/12/2011 19:50

That's crazy! If they were bringing out a double so soon you'd think they'd be shouting about it and getting pre-orders! Confused

I'm seriously intrigued. Maybe the B-Dual isn't our last double after all! Wink

saoirse86 · 04/12/2011 19:53

Oh and I was going to say, i think most would agree that if just 3-4 months before the 'release date' there's been no info released at all then it probably means it'll be a lot later that they actually release it. Just in time for me duping DP into having another DC! Grin

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 04/12/2011 20:13

To be fair Quinny are on the verge of releasing the Yezz and yet that's relatively new news. March is the big UK trade show and I would think that if it wasn't on show at Cologne that Harrogate would be where we would learn more.

saoirse86 · 04/12/2011 21:22

But we know something about the yezz and have done for a while. You can google it and there's plenty of talk about it, pics etc. There's nothing on this oyster double.

Maybe there were crossed wires and they actually meant there will be one prototype released in march for this show?

Or maybe they were right and before we know it, it'll be on sale in time for the Harrogate show!

But if you need one by then mummyhj I wouldn't hold out personally just in case. Are you due around then?

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 05/12/2011 01:35

Ahh but going back a month or so ago, we didn't know anything about the Yezz and that is due in the UK any day now. So, we may well not hear anything until late if thats the way Babystyle choose to play it. The contacts I have asked know nothing and one in particular has his ears firmly to the doubles ground. But you simply never know!! Never say never!

aswellasyou · 05/12/2011 11:36

mummyhj, which shop was it where you heard this? I've heard all sorts of rubbish from staff in major high street stores, but I'm really hoping this is true! Grin Did they say whether it's a tandem or side by side?

Yes Saoirse, it was at Cologne in the middle of September when they announced the Yezz. So it's only been a 3 month turnaround there. And this would be 3 months too.

aswellasyou · 05/12/2011 11:38

I'm suddenly hoping the member of staff wasn't mixing up the words Oyster and Orbit. Confused

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 05/12/2011 11:45

or the micralite double Xmas Confused

saoirse86 · 05/12/2011 11:55

Ok, ok, I get it, it's possible! Grin I didn't say it's not possible but it seems tight for time don't you think? And knowing what you know about release dates would you hold out if you needed one soon? That was the OP's question after all! I wouldn't but I might buy a cheap double to tide me over just in case they were released soon!

I really hope it is true. I can't work out how the current chassis would accommodate a second seat, unless it was very small. Confused Or maybe it will be a side by side version. Either way I think it could be really good!

This will be so disappointing if it was a mix up. Do you think we could convince BabyStyle to do it anyway! Do you reckon they're on MN? Hmm

aswellasyou · 05/12/2011 11:58

They're all watching us at all times! Xmas Hmm

I'll test it out for you if you like, BabyStyle. Xmas Wink

saoirse86 · 05/12/2011 13:05

Me too BabyStyle! Did I mention I already have your single Oyster? Grin

mummyhj · 07/12/2011 17:26

The guy really seemed to know what he was on about, I'm due at the end of march so I'm not sure I'll be able to last that long, I like to be Organised and getting the buggy the month I'm due would probably drive me mad! Someone on here said they had a b dual? Any good?

OP posts:
TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 07/12/2011 17:33

Yes the B-Dual is very good. Not perfect, but one of the best doubles currently on the market. It definitely works well.

aswellasyou · 07/12/2011 18:26

Saoirse and I have a B-Dual. (We're twins and have daughters who are both 14 months.) I love it. I'm sure an iCandy Peach or Mima Kobi would be a little bit better but they're a lot more expensive.

The seats are good sizes, it has loads of seating options, it folds with both seats on and is nice and compact folded, pushes really well, has an adjustable handlebar, good suspension (more for the top seat than bottom, but still good), a humongous basket with loads of access options, lovely big hoods for shading the sun and even light rain, and the mesh hood panels allow you to see the children easily even with the hoods down.

The downsides are that it's a bit wide at 69cm, the seats don't go vertical (although our girls don't seem to care at all about this), it's difficult to add/remove the footmuffs (this has been addressed on the 2012 version) and apparently older children sometimes seem to hang from the main seat a bit.

aswellasyou · 07/12/2011 18:29

Assuming you're not having twins, keep an eye out for the Phil and Teds Promenade due out next month. It looks good and appears to have a small footprint (I haven't seen the dimensions yet though) but the seats look like they could be a tad close together. I think it's going to cost £799 as a double.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 07/12/2011 20:52

The Promenade could work well for twins. After all it's got two carrycots and two similar sized seat units (one has a fixed footrest).

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 07/12/2011 20:54

the major problem with the promenade though is, it is made by p&t Xmas Grin

aswellasyou · 07/12/2011 22:52

I was just thinking of it not taking two carseats, but you're right Twinv Uk kle.
Prams Grin

aswellasyou · 07/12/2011 22:53

Xmas Hmm Twinkle

mummyhj · 08/12/2011 20:53

Aswellasyou I know this sounds very random but are you tall? I'm only 5foot and thought the b dual was really tall, do you find it a problem?
