Children definitely prefer sitting side by side, or just not under each other. Why would you want to be practically sitting on the floor with hardly anything to look at? And they can't sit up very well in the bottom seat so it's not appealing for them when they get to 4 or 5 months.

I think it looks really good but have no need to buy one as I only have one child. [busad]

saoirse86 · 23/04/2011 12:02

Guildfordnany where did you find that info on weights etc? I couldn't find it anywhere when I wasted lots of time looking at it for no good reason!

FriggFRIGG · 23/04/2011 12:29

Saoirse you've become a real buggy nut eh!!?

yes,i have had many ,many buggys,
at first DS didnt mind sitting underneath, even DD thought it was a bit cool for about 10 mins, but as soon as they realise they cannot really see, they hate it...so you end up pushing a double with only one kid in it.

but the side by sides are often very wide and my door is very small,so its always been a compromise, that i end up getting sick off, selling and buying another.
with the duet THERE IS NO COMPROMISE!!!!
AMAZING!!

apparently some kids love the p&t ,call it a 'peek-a-boo seat' etc....just not mine apparently[busad]

I read the Duet was 14kg on another forum however I don't believe it because the Duo is apparently only 12kgs and the Duet has much less frame, is smaller etc. It's also based on the MB Swift which is 9.5kgs. So if you add on a bit more for the extra seat etc. my guess is just short of 12kgs too?? The only compromise is the fold. It's flat and will fill my boot up...but it will probably lie on top of shopping etc.

Guildfordnanny · 23/04/2011 20:33

Actually I take all that back. I was reading the wrong stats for a different pushchair...silly me...I think 14kgs is the right weight because the Duo is 16.5kgs. www.bestbuggy.co.uk/compare-pushchairs/mountain-buggy-duet/mountain-buggy-duo/

saoirse86 · 24/04/2011 15:44

I read the wrong thing too, maybe that's the chassis weight? [buconfused]

That comparison also says it's £680 for the duet but I swear I read £580 somewhere. Am I making that up?

It's crazy they haven't released proper info yet. They must have got all the info sorted with plenty made already so I'm guessing this is all a marketing ploy to get us talking about it. I'm sure they'll be please to know it's worked! [bugrin]

FriggFRIGG · 24/04/2011 18:16

i have been quoted £580.....

im so excited [bugrin]

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 24/04/2011 22:06

Yes £580 is correct. It's worth asking if places do a pre order deal though. I know some places were.

FriggFRIGG · 24/04/2011 22:10

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 25/04/2011 10:33

Lol yes try Tuesday. Yes they want a deposit. I buy my pushchairs from there wherever possible. Great guys!

Guildfordnanny · 29/04/2011 21:16

The Duet delivery date has been put back until probably the end of July :(

pookey · 30/04/2011 22:55

I agree with saoirse and guildfordnanny I have had a regular wide mountain buggy and a p&T sport and the P&T is long and can be difficult to manouvere. duet sounds perfect - wish it was around 4 years ago!

FriggFRIGG · 06/05/2011 14:14

NOOOOOOooooooo!!!!

the END of july Shock

it cant be true!!

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 06/05/2011 14:33

Sorry but it is :( I have my ear firmly to the ground and am hoping to know as soon as they are on a ship to the UK. I went and lovingly stroked a Duo and Swift this week in anticipation though. They are such gorgeous pushchairs....

Oh dear, I hope you haven't sold your P&T yet! Confused

Guildfordnanny · 07/05/2011 13:46

BTW I discovered this week that the price won't be set until the Duet arrives in the UK dependent on the exchange rate at the time. So the price could go up or down. I was surprised because I thought it was set!

tabbyH · 16/01/2012 21:39

So, did you all buy a duet? I need reviews!
