Hello please can I pick your brains?

I have just bought a 2009 MB urban double and a single carrycot which came with the raincover. However I am struggling with how to keep my DS2 (and his seat) dry if it is tipping down. DD due in January so it is highly likely and I will have the school run to do!

Any clues, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

basl · 06/11/2010 14:34

Hi ladyBuzz sorry never had a MB urban double and not sure if any the girls that normally chat on here have. If you post this same message on the pushchair thread there are loads of MB fans on there. I know Shatterdmum is a real fan of them so maybe if you pm her??

Good luck and hope someone comes along to answer you and Yes you want your dd to be nice and snuggled up in it too xxx

SkyeplusArlo · 06/11/2010 15:13

hello!! so i now want a jane powertwin Blush (i havent told dp,so sshhhh its a secret!)

but... secretly,

do you know if there are different models, which will be best for toddler and 2month old?! as far as i can tell theres the pro,the dual traveller and the slalom,or do people just call the same buggy by different names?! Confused it will only be used occasionally as we are getting on really well with the bugaboo bee/buggyboard/sling combo's atm,i just want something to shove em both in when they need a nap or we're going on long country walks/snow attack etc!Grin
TIA

basl · 06/11/2010 15:45

Mmmm Sky you may be needing a double nipper then. I think the jane ones are rather bulky. I may be wrong but i have a friend who had one and loved it but went onto something else. Why don't you look on ebay or ask on the sales boards here?

OP posts:
SkyeplusArlo · 06/11/2010 16:31

I have a double nipper instep...but it doesn't fit through my front door unless I take off the wheels!Sad ebay is where I've been looking, but I just can't figure out which one to get...I've already tryed a vibe (hated it,so heavy and bulky weird handle, and dd couldn't sleep on that little seat, then I had a bjcm double, too big for my front door, and the nipper is the same, I'm getting fed up now...grrr.
Will try the boards pn here again though, thanks Smile

basl · 06/11/2010 19:06

Ahh sorry i am pants at keeping up ok so you are asking what are the diff between the jane one's?? I think the powertwin is the one you want slalom? I am making matters worse i think. I will text my friend and ask her and get back to you. Sorry not one of the most experienced on this pushchair thread. Used to be loads of people but no much happening these days Sad.
I will get back to you tho. x

Skye I beleive the pro is the newest model

5inthebed · 06/11/2010 20:33

I know nothing bout Janes or MBs I'm afraid, an didn't really get to dabble with double prams. I had a P&T side by side, but that was quite wide, just about got through my front door.

What about a BJC Select? Or is that out your price range?

nicolamumof3 · 06/11/2010 20:39

powertwin pro. My friend had one but it gets a bugger to push as they get older. grrr to doulbes i had 18m of using them daily so went through alot.

MB i would have thought they'd make r/c thats a strange one that! Misdee knows about MB's as well!

Morning all Smile

Basl part of the reason I still haven't used the swift yet is I am as ever over run with buggies and if I get bugaboo snow wheels I wouldn't need the swift and could sell it to you unused then see. Then I think I know I will want it when I sell the cam, I like having a 'big' walking pram even though would still have bee+, black xt oh and mulberry cherry and black frog I seem to habe bought BlushGrin

Why have one when you can have 27??!!

lillypie · 07/11/2010 09:11

lol carrie you pram nut!!!

basl · 07/11/2010 09:28

Oh my heart missed a beat there. I would buy it off you in a second but i understand you want to keep it just incase Grin

OP posts:
5inthebed · 07/11/2010 10:01

Mulberry charry and black frog? Bet it is a stunner!

basl · 07/11/2010 10:39

I know!!! but Carrie really should share don't you think Wink can't have too much gorgeousness in one house.

OP posts:
carrielou2007 · 07/11/2010 10:55

ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! I know it would be sensible to sell it to you and I know you really want one but I'm having a real (naughty) never having another baby so why not just get what you want whilst you can?? Like the apples quest, I hate quests but know will use it as a stroller when I'm done ith big prams so it has been sat upstairs since christmas eve why not sit up there a bit longer??!!

Bought all black cam chasis (oops) then cherry for holiday but selling that and bought black frog I can use cam hood rod and clamps with bright blue breezy and seat cover and parasol, yum yum yum!

My boy is mahoosive at 9 months, so like dd was it is scary!!

nicolamumof3 · 07/11/2010 10:56

oooh its chilly here today have my BIL coming over to see boys we are going to Pizza Express for lunch yummmeeeee!

Then fireworks later at the church which is nice as over road and on nice and early.

basl · 07/11/2010 11:13

Carrie i am only pulling your leg Grin i completely understand your system and i totally agree with your logic re not having another baby so the one i have will have a chariot for every occassion and whey the hell not eh?? x

Nicola that sounds like a lovely day you are about to have and i love pizza express. Do you get spree books down south?? You buy it for £20 and it is packed full of buy one get one free meals tickets and free entry to softplay etc etc etc. Well i got one and make my money back after two visits to Pizza Express lol.

OP posts:
carrielou2007 · 07/11/2010 11:17

basl · 07/11/2010 11:32

How is the weight loss going? and please don't ask me Blush and prey do tell what transport is your little cherub going in today.

OP posts:
carrielou2007 · 07/11/2010 15:39

4 stone 2 pounds, a stone more than my target. I have had big mac meal, onion rings, bar of galaxy and two jam doughnuts BlushGrin. Noticed it is really slowing down though now, that last stone has taken a good two months to come off and still feeding so not drinking yet, then we'll see!!

Black framed cam with off white today, yesterday used the mulberry cherry for the first time and I had a lot of looks and one pregnant lady sit next to us and get chatting and her ask me about it. Lovely colour, lovely buggy just not right for the holiday buggy.

QueenFizzBangPoppingEverything · 07/11/2010 15:45

Sorry to hijack but I need to know fast and you are all so wise
