I'm looking for a bit of insparation!!! We've put our house on the market and I'd like some feedback on the pics etc and whether you think reasonable price etc.

Our house!

Please be as honest as you like, I can take it!

i would buy it if looking for home in your area. It looks lovely, tasteful and spacious. good price too .

gingerkirsty · 06/05/2010 22:10

Pics are great, house looks lovely, only thing I would like to see is a floor plan - I love a floor plan it really helps me see how the photos fit together IYSWIM. Ask if your agents can do one!

Good luck

nappyzoneloveslindor · 06/05/2010 22:11

Ohhh it's that what it's supposed to look like?

Very very nice.

TheCrackFox · 06/05/2010 22:16

Lovely. My one piece of advice would be some flowers in the back garden, just a couple of pots would do.

GypsyMoth · 06/05/2010 22:24

its lovely.....i used to live in next village to you, grew up in the area!! and used to work at junior school as TA in your village....small world, where are you moving to?

i loved your house

hatesponge · 06/05/2010 22:34

it's lovely. Brilliantly tidy, no clutter, neutral (but not boring magnolia) decor.

Agree re floor plans (I also love a floor plan!) some colour in the garden would be good (you can take the pots when you go) and maybe some fresh flowers in the reception rooms when you have viewings, will add colour there, plus lovely flowery smells.

ruddynorah · 06/05/2010 22:37

looks fine to me. maybe do a bit more with the garden? from the photos it looks like it's all shed and paving, not much grass or planting.

Linnet · 06/05/2010 22:38

Your house is lovely, I'd buy it. So reasonably priced compared to where I live.

thisisyesterday · 06/05/2010 22:39

bloody hell it's lovely! you wouldn't even get a flat round here for that

i think i really need to move

BeenBeta · 06/05/2010 22:44

I think a lot of families will like that.

I also think a lot of buy to let investors will to rent it out becaue the decor and size is just what they are looking for.

Laquitar · 06/05/2010 23:35

I am at the price!!!

I think the pictures of the house are lovely but the garden ones could be better.
I would put a small swing and slide in the garden.

Laquitar · 06/05/2010 23:37

sorry i pressed 'post' too soon.
I meant to type: or a nice table and chairs.

Good luck

PiratePrincess · 06/05/2010 23:51

I think that's it's lovely. Impressed by the "office" too!

MortaIWombat · 07/05/2010 01:28

Agree with everyone else on the garden. A photo on a sunny day, as well as the flowers/colour suggested, would make a big difference. Maybe get a better picture of bedroom 2, too: the wide-angle lens actually makes it look as if half the room is filled by cot.

It's a lovely house, though!

IMoveTheStars · 07/05/2010 01:58

damn, wrote a respose and MN ate it.

Living room nice, but ditch the dado.
PLEASE paint the pine stairs - they really date it.
Kitchen is fine, really nice
When you show the house, open up the living room doors (and consider a photo with them open) they are very orange and imposing.
Bedroom is lovely - i'd like to know what the paint colour is!! (likewise nursery)

Bedroom 3 is obviously massive, but coming across VERY orange. tone that down and emphasise the size of the room.

Bathroom is nice, but veyr pink (but that's just my personal distaste)

Sorry if I'm bitchy, but you asked

HTH

IMoveTheStars · 07/05/2010 02:00

other thing is that its not clear where the living room ends, and the dining room begins - due to the computer under the stairs (I wouldnt highlight that)

define your rooms?

solo · 07/05/2010 02:35

Is bedroom 2 really as small as it states or is it a typo? looks ok sizewise...

oldnewmummy · 07/05/2010 05:45

Definitely have a floor plan - I wouldn't view a house without. Soome cushions on the first sofa and maybe a picture above. Agree about pots. Emphasise the move-in condition as there is NOTHING to object to re decor - ideal buy to let.

Good job!

JillyWillyPops · 07/05/2010 09:36

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I have asked the estate agent about floor plans and they have said that it is not something that they do!!!!!

Threeblondeboys - we're moving to Whitwell, only 2 miles away but better school etc! Tis def a small world

Nappyzoneloveslindor - Well done, you know your paint!! Cookie Dough it is , the nursery is Wilkinsons Milky Coffee (i think)

Think i'll get some pots and flowers from the garden centre this weekend to brighten up the garden. I did have some lovely flowers but the damn snow killed them all off.

GypsyMoth · 07/05/2010 09:41

ahh Whitwell was where i lived before....loved that village, and Mr Ray the headteacher was lovely (if he's still there,it was a few years ago)

good luck!!

atworknotworking · 07/05/2010 10:05

The house is lovely, very roomy and a reet bargain. I agree with the floor plan, push your agent for one, most have them now and some are doing virtual tours as well. I would put some colour (plants / hanging basket) near front door for curb appeal and pop something in the back garden, could you stick some trellis on the shed - tis very cheap to do - and would break up the wall a bit.

Good luck with the sale.

mintyfresh · 07/05/2010 10:05

OMG - you can still get a house for that price!!!!

That wouldn't even buy a garage where we live let alone a lovely house like yours

Good luck with your sale!

bibbitybobbityhat · 07/05/2010 10:10

I had two points re. the photos:

No.1 (exterior) could focus rather more on your house - atm there are three houses in the one picture which sort of emphasises how small the houses are. You need a colourful hanging basket/window box/pots in the front too, I think.

Agree you need new garden pics and when you do take them, please move your wheely bin out of shot .

Otherwise your house looks great and very appealing.
