I'm looking for a bit of insparation!!! We've put our house on the market and I'd like some feedback on the pics etc and whether you think reasonable price etc.

Our house!

Please be as honest as you like, I can take it!

It is lovely. Very neat and tidy in photos. Nice and neutral move in condition. I want it, but I live in scotland

It is lovely good luck with your sale & purchase

Lovely DH and I would cry with happiness if we could find a house for that around here! You're so close to the station, too. Maybe have a little introductory note that includes the commuting time by train to Sheffield / Nottingham / wherever? We always look at that but then, we are looking in Greater London so maybe that's more the norm here than there.

Thanks, we've got the train station at the back of the house, 2 bus stops at the front of the house and both infant and junior schools are 200 yards away

hey op - i think its looks fab - you've done a great job. if it was in plymouth i'd be putting in an offer.

meanwhile could i hijack and get bf on my house?

warthog · 07/05/2010 19:46

i think it looks really nice and neat, very neutral so you'll be attracting as many people as poss. it does look a bit too neutral tbh, so i'd second adding a couple of pots / hanging baskets of flowers. also get a couple of house plants to greenify / colour things a bit. will make the world of difference. eg. a nice purple orchid in your bathroom etc.

I reckon that is the perfect way to show a family house - clean slate, but still clearly child-friendly, and decluttered, well done you!!

I agree that a couple of easy things like a lovely colourful orchid in the bathroom/bunch of flowers in the sitting room/slightly poncy fruitbowl etc will give it a splash of colour and 'lived in' look without being too messy.

Also think about things like smells (don't cook fish or let a wet dog in!) and make sure it's a nice cosy temperature, with lots of lights on, maybe some music in the lounge etc if you're in when the viewings come in.

You want it to be the kind of place where the viewers will want to kick off their shoes, sit down on your sofa, and ask for a glass of wine!!

Think the house looks lovely but how about putting a table and chairs in the dining room. This will define the space more

It's beautiful - you don't need to change a thing.

And at that price, I'd buy it if it was near me. I'd have to fight DD for it though - she's house-hunting too and thinks it's gorgeous.

what a great tidy house!
