OMG. Is it normal to have tile choice anxiety?

I was sure these tiles were fine and now they're up and I'm not at all sure!
But i have to accept it and move on!

I spent about 2 months trying to find a cheaper version of some Fired Earth tiles for my old kitchen and ended up spending a bleedin fortune on the Fired Earth ones. Although we over-ordered adn ended up having almost enough to re-tile our next kitchen too so I figure I got twice the value in teh end .

Show us the tiles!

Tile choice anxiety is common I believe...almost as common as carpet choice anxiety, paint colour choice anxiety and so on.....

I think I've suffered from them all over the years.

but you can't start a thread and then say: "only respond if you like these tiles or if you are a liar"
That is against the spirit of this forum, I think we would all agree!
If even ONE poster said they didn't like them then I would be deaf to a very chorus of praise!
It's not like this is a REAL problem in world terms... it's just that we have had a properly minging bathroom for years and I've had the opportunity to get it right but find this kind of choice to be so difficult, mostly because I don't really have enough confidence in my own taste! I actually want something slightly bland that will not make the house unsaleable that looks simple and elegant.

I could describe them maybe?
They are a stone colour, I kind of mottled beige. Very simple, same tile on wall and floor.
I'm thinking - why didn't I just go white tiles and white and black on the floor! Why was I thinking I could get it right?!?!

I just wonder if the room suddenly and horrifyingly looks like one of those in a property show where the presenter and punter walk in and

Completely normal IME. My parents (married for 44 years) have almost divorced over tiles on several occasions.

lowlandlady -if you had said they were pink and had occasional "feature" large flower and butterfly designs over 6 tiles then I think I might have sloped away from the thread and maintained a dignified silence

As it is they sound fine -neutral, inoffensive, nothing to take offence to (no shocking colour or garish design).

christ i spent 6 months if not more choosing bathroom stuff. i was paralysed.

Completely normal. DH and I took months to agree on tiles for our en-suite and hall.

oh yes, it's like house anxiety. You buy it and then you think you hate it and burst into tears.

Totally normal, I do it with everything but now recognise it as post-purchase anxiety.

Sorry for ominous silence (was working). They sound lovely. When you say 'mottled beige' I'm imgining like limestone. Matt and frightfully tasteful.

I feel your pain though - we're doing our bathroom at the moment and I'm OBSESSED with tiles, and I can't make a decision on anything!

I have severe 'worktop anxiety' DH wants 'Everest gloss' with our shaker cream kitchen and I want a solid wood top...I'm trying to like his choice but it's actually driving me mad thinking about how it will look.....help!

They are very nice lowlandlady. I think it is the mattness that is key here. Were they glossy they wouldn't be nice, but they aren't, so I'm sure they look lovely.

My mate who knows everything says bathrooms always look hideous pre grouting and all.

Also having blokes in your house in and out and mess endlessly for days makes you certifiable.

I just want them to finish and GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

work top is hell, we just got inexpensive worktop but all my mates have glorious wooden tops or granite...

dark granite is hard work though isn't it?
