DH & I have never really been taken with bungalows but one has come on the market today & it looks really lovely. I just think of bungalows as being for old people - what do you think? I am wondering whether we should go view it to see how we feel.....

Yeah I checked on houseprices yesterday but as there is no house number on the brochure it is difficult to compare with what has sold. On with the house search, I fear we are never going to find anything

If there is a street view, you can sometimes see the number of next door, if not your house.

We live din a bungalow before this. I liked it and it had a much bigger plot than the houses around; However, a small point: You may want to keep your bedrooms looking tidier than you might in a house as there's nothing worse than an unexpected visitor trailing past the open door of your room to see the unmade bed and even (gasp) your discarded undies on the floor!

With young DCs you like to keep them in the living areas which can include bedrooms in a bungalow, but be aware you have to 'police' their little friends far more than if you had an out of bounds upstairs! Little hands swiping toys, or even riffling through YOUR room!

Even fellow mums thought that on a playdate pick up it was OK to 'nose' through ALL of the house as it was all on one level whereas they'd've never have dreamt of going upstairs for a shifty!

DH made the same point to me about people having a nosey & little friends opening closed bedroom doors. We had friends round recently & I was upstairs in our bedroom getting my son changed & I heard my friend's little boy cime up the stairs & her follow & instead of taking him back downstairs she let him open the bedroom door & walk in, her following. I was flabergasted!!
