I saw somebody posted details of their house on here and I would like to do similar. I live in a very expensive area so please do not feint when you see the price! Do you think it looks OK? my home

I live in London so am impervious to asking prices. I think your cottage is very cute but possibly a little tired: moss growing on the crazy paving (which is a bit worrying in itself - I might try and break it up a bit with a table and some chairs); bedroom looks a bit underloved - maybe something on the walls, slightly smarter bedding and a blind rather than curtains? The kitchen looks a good size but the living room and bathroom both look very, very small and I would worry about storage.

Agree with lala and also I think the garden woudl look more inviting with some nice colouful plants in pots, as well as some garden furniture to show where you could eat outside in the summer (even if only cheap cafe type table and chairs from B&Q).

I think it looks really cute! Agree with a table and chairs in garden and maybe a couple of bright plants in pots. But, think rest of house is fine.

It's a cottage so any potential buyer surely will NOT be expecting loads of storage!

It's small but I'm looking for a house atm and it's rare you see something that, from the photographs alone, gives out such nice vibes.

Oh no I am going to kill DH! We have complete new bedding to put on the bed and the table and chairs are currently in the shed, coming out tomorrow. I bought some hanging baskets today and we are spending the morning in the garden to sort it out. I wish we'd waited until afterwards to get the photos taken but we were in a hurry to get the house on the market. Hopefully when we get viewers they will be impressed that it looks better than in the brochure! Will hang something on the bedroom wall if you think it looks bleak. I also have fresh flowers in a vase on the kitchen table. I could kick myself for not thinking about all of this beforehand

Get the estate agents to take new ones. That's what you are paying them for.

DOn't stress they are only minor points (agree that a cottage wouldnt have lots of storage), I shoudl have said its lovely, nicely presented and looks cosy.
Am sure the things I mentioned arent deal breakers, just think at this time of year making the garden look welcoming is really worth doing.

It looks lovely very tidy.
I agree maybe jetwash the moss off the patio (if you have time) and some nice furniture in the garden.
I think maybe you could just fold back the bed throw to the end of the bed ??

I sold a cottage. Emphasise any storage you have. Mine had a lot of well hidden areas , a lot more than my new build now!!

Thanks all The throw is from Laura Ashley but is getting a bit tired, even though we only put it on the bed when we have visitors. Once the new bedding is on the bed I may thorw it out if it doesn't look OK at the end (as suggested).

I think it looks cutsey country yet modern enough which appeals to a lot of ppl looking for the 'rural idyll', who don't want a modern box. It's obviously been well looked after.

I take it there's no parking, as it isn't mentioned?

We live off the road, so it is lovely and quiet. You can park at the top or the bottom so not a problem really.

Sorry, perhaps I sounded hyper-critical (I've only ever bought incredibly run down/structurally unsound houses so I find it a bit difficult to judge what is an acceptable level of doctoring as it is a complete turn-off for me). It is very sweet and the points I made were very minor and easy to amend - good news about the garden. Hope you get lots of viewers - you can always ask the agent to take some more photos, it's only a five minute job.

looks very clean and tidy, but too much like a rental property. maybe a little too spartan i would remove the bits from around your lo0. is it toothpaste tubes? and the bottle on the window ledge.the kitchen table definatly needs something on top.
agree with comments about the garden.

It's been raining all day so haven't managed to get in the garden, grrrr!!! Appreciate all the comments (negative and positive) as this is the first house we have sold, so we are amateurs! In the bathroom it is Parazone wipes on the ledge by the toilet and mouthwash on the window bottom next to the plant.

Can you not take more photos yourself and email them to the agents and get them to update web site. They might not reprint paper schedules - but I'm presuming it;s an easy job for them to change the web.

Hi all
We are going dual agent & this is the draft brochure (outrageously they have put it on rightmoce before we have reviewed it, or had clapped eyes on it to be totally honest!!!!!!). What do you think of the photos? When compared to the 1st EA's photos (link at beginning of thread) they are rather dull in colour & I do not know if that is down to the camera or the weather.
I can see a few things on the brochure I want changing.

The second bedroom and garden ones are much better than the first link.
I would have kept another kitchen shot at the original angle to show the cupboards etc, but overall they are much better.

Thanks all.
We thought that too about the kitchen & have already instructed the EA to include another photo showing the cupboards & window. No idea why the ea hasn't out any details in the brochure about the kitchen & have asked him to remedy that.
We have had 3 viewings today, the EA did 2 of them (so no feedback as yet) & DH did the other & those people seemed very interested. Hope so!! Also have a young couple coming back for a 2nd viewing tomorrow
