We have our first viewing tomorrow, extremely nervous of course this is the first time we have been in this situation, apart from making sure it clean and tidy etc any advice? www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-21739228.html?locationIdentifier=OUTCODE%5E1615&maxPr ice=190000&pageNumber=1&backToListURL=%2Fproperty-for-sale%2Ffind.html%3FsearchType%3DSALE%26locatio nIdentifier%3DOUTCODE%255E1615%26radius%3D0.0%26displayPropertyType%3D%26minBedrooms%3D%26maxBedroom s%3D%26minPrice%3D%26maxPrice%3D190000%26maxDaysSinceAdded%3D%26retirement%3D%26partBuyPartRent%3Dfa lse%26_includeSSTC%3Don%26x%3D61%26y%3D16%26sortByPriceDescending%3D%26primaryDisplayPropertyType%3D %26secondaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldPrimaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26 oldSecondaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26newHome%3D%26auction%3Dfalse

take down the baby gate if you can, and take up the bath mat and then it looks great

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 09/04/2009 20:31

it's bloody immaculate !

beautifully decorated, nice kitchen, nice bathroom

I'll wager there's not one as good as that on the market.

Good luck

bratnav · 09/04/2009 20:31

Lovely house

Really well laid out and decorated, if I was in the market for a 3 bed house in your area it would definitely be top of my list.

spongebrainmaternitypants · 09/04/2009 20:32

All looks very clean and tidy inside which is important. Quite hard to see on the photos but my only small criticism would be its 'kerb appeal' - can you put a couple of pots by the front door and is it possible to lose the bin?

Good luck - it's a bloody tough market so be patient!

Pinkranger · 09/04/2009 20:35

Thank you - its bin day tomorrow so it will be out the way! im going to hid bath mat, toys and bike lock that i have in bathroom ( so ds2 dont go in the cupboard) - we was going to get the kerb dropped but never got round to it, never a problem now we are here.

Looks great!!!

PussinJimmyChoos · 09/04/2009 20:41

Its lovely!!

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 09/04/2009 20:41

Lovely house. The only (two) things I would do is to put a tub of flowers (daffs or any other flowering plant) by the front door outside as the front of the house looks a little stark.
Also, take down the baby gate if at all possible.

Lovely house - very very pretty.

Btw - just how did the estate agent take that picture of the bathroom - I got vertigo just looking at it? Was he suspended from the ceiling??

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 20:42

It's lovely nothing jumps out am sure it will go asap

being 'really' picky
move bath mat, bog brush , bin , baby gate , booster seat , personal photographs above fire and on shelf and add some colour to the front with some flowers , containers etc
Also the 'wires' by the bedroom wardrobe ???

Hope that helps!!

eandh · 09/04/2009 20:42

omg you live about 5 minutes from me !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely house btw good luck

Sidge · 09/04/2009 20:45

It's lovely! I agree take up the bathmat. Also I am wondering what that is on the bedroom floor to the left of the picture - looks like cables/leads on the floor?

And is that the dustbin by the front door? Is there any chance you can park it somewhere else for viewings? It sounds petty but could really put some people off, especially if it's a bit whiffy!

Good luck

callmeovercautious · 09/04/2009 20:47

It is lovely. Just thought the rug in the lounge made it quite a dark picture - have you got a smaller one?
I am suspicious of rugs and always lift them on viewings to check underneath Past experience with some damaged floorboards!

hellymelly · 09/04/2009 20:48

Your house looks really great, light and fresh and airy, has a happy feel and pretty paper in the bedroom-I looked at what seemed like hundreds online before we bought ours and they never looked as good as yours.Good luck.

QuintessentialShadow · 09/04/2009 20:49

Take away that small table behind your dining table if you can, it makes it look a little cramped.

It is a lovely house. I agree in removing your personal stuff from the shelves in the living room, and just add maybe a vase or some ornament from other places in the house. Bring in some colour to the living room.
Is there a bin, or some other mess next to the unit by the door in your kitchen? Tidy that out of the way.

Make your windows gleam, sparkly clean windows "maketh the room"

Add a nice teracotta pot with daffodils next to your front door.

I hope it goes well.

mrsmaidamess · 09/04/2009 20:52

Your house looks very good, a couple of suggestions, the living room looks quite dark with dark sofas, rug, cushions.

Could you lighten either the cushions or the rug, make it look a bit more spring like?

Ditto the heavy curtains in the bedroom. Some co ordinating cushions on the bed would give the room that expensive hotel suite look!

Good luck with viewings!

mrsmaidamess · 09/04/2009 20:52

You are brave posting your house on here for us to pick over with a fine tooth comb

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 20:54

This is actually a really good idea pink as it is hard to see things from an outsiders perspective.
Hope tom is the buyer!!!

Sorrento · 09/04/2009 21:10

It's very nice and tidy, good luck

naughtalessnickerless · 09/04/2009 21:12

its lovely.

inscotland · 09/04/2009 21:15

Half the folk on here would have you take away everything! I mean removing pictures from the livingroom - come on. It needs to be lived in. I agree with moving the baby gate if you can and secondly the bin however, they are already in the photos so don't stress (unless your bin is smelly). Good luck. You have a lovely home.

Pinkranger · 09/04/2009 21:15

i know i would get an honest answer on here!
The bin willed be out the way and the drive normal has my husbands nice new shiny car on the drive! Have got flowers ready to go ( have just put them in vases) -
Good idea about the small table, i used that for my 20 month old ds as he likes to sit with his food! eandH, we are soooooo close, love it here, only moving because we are relocating due to dh work

The thing im going to leave is the photos, as when we brought it there were photos everywhereand it gavethe house a sense of warmth and love - its nice to know that people are happy! saying that the only place we have photos is in the lounge

OP posts:
Pinkranger · 09/04/2009 21:18

Aw Pinkranger, lovely house. But then, you're lovely so what did I expect?

callmeovercautious · 10/04/2009 00:14

I like to see family photos - I would be buying a family house and they give a feeling of warmth Just not a whole wall of them Also I would be happy with the gate and any toddler tables etc. But I am a Mum of a Toddler.... Perhaps a niche market

Your house is lovely, and a nice area too. My Mum lived that way for a while!
