@Statsquestion2 @Littletreefrog
think I’ve added it now thanks

I like it but I like quirky period houses. Garden is a god size too.

Lyra25 · 21/02/2026 16:46

It’s beautiful and I think the room sizes are good. I would have to make the garden a garden again though and given the likely the age of the property, be happy that it had been well maintained and modernised utilities etc

FlamingoFloss · 21/02/2026 16:47

It’s very nice but as we don’t know you and what your requirements are it is difficult for us to comment. What is it that you were looking for and what is it that your partner is looking for?

Gettingonabitnow · 21/02/2026 16:47

All the rooms seem quite narrow? And is it a touch overlooked? X

ClassicalQueen · 21/02/2026 16:48

It looks great, good location being close to the train station too. I wish I was closer to one! The garden is a decent size, the rooms are well appointed it just needs decorating. I’d buy it if it’s in your budget.

Lyra25 · 21/02/2026 16:48

Sorry just saw that there is more to the garden than the patio! It’s close to the station too, I think it’s a lovely house

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 21/02/2026 16:48

It’s a nice enough house.

Seawolves · 21/02/2026 16:49

Is bedroom 4 going to be a guest room because I would not want to be ducking every time I wanted to get in or out of bed.

Sprig1 · 21/02/2026 16:49

It's ok. Good room sizes generally. I don't like the kitchen, it's very overlooked. The house doesn't look like it has been updated recently so I would be wondering what hidden work needs doing.

Twattergy · 21/02/2026 16:49

Nice house you could add value by making the garden a lot nicer.

Littletreefrog · 21/02/2026 16:50

No off road parking? Is that an issue? How many of you will be living there? What are your ages? Would be suitable for a family, probably too big for a couple, unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues or who may develop them soon as no downstairs toilet.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 21/02/2026 16:52

I like it, that's my kind of house !

My main observation is - the front garden - is there no fence / wall separating from the house on the right ?

TheMatildaEffect · 21/02/2026 16:55

As the op hasn't specified what she is actually requiring, or conflicted about, I think it's difficult to comment.
She's effectively put a complete stranger's house up on a massive chat website, for randomers, who have no intention of buying, to criticise.
I don't think I'd be very happy if it was my house.

WonderingWanda · 21/02/2026 16:56

It's a bit bland but could be lovely. I think it looks like it's been done quite cheaply. The kitchen needs extending and I think the lounge looks a bit small. That said if the area is right it looks like the best of a bad bunch from right move.

@OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon they have taken the fence down between properties. I would want to put one back in. Make the front garden off road parking

Nothing that a tin of paint and some carpet on the stairs wouldn’t fix! It’s a nice house. Looks a bit bland at the moment but could be lovely. I don’t know the area to comment on location or price but it’s good value compared to where I live!

Ohcrap082024 · 21/02/2026 17:00

It’s a good chunk of house. It’s in a decent part of East Sussex but a couple of things to consider:

  1. Secondary schools can be a bit tricky because of the knock on effect from the Kent grammars and the success of Beacon in Crowborough (which you might be out of catchment for). So if you have dc, even little ones, this is worth looking into.
  2. It is not that far from the Crowborough camp. Lots of local and national press to read up on.

@Gettingonabitnow i think it’s the photos that make it look narrow. Yes it’s a bit overlooked.

@Ohcrap082024 our kids are adults now so no schools needed. Am aware of the camp but not a problem for us

Buscobel · 21/02/2026 17:03

So, no off street parking and no garage. I don’t like from gardens turned into parking, but that’s a personal thing.

The kitchen looks narrow, as do the other rooms downstairs. Is someone living there because it doesn’t look lived in.

ThePerfectWeekender · 21/02/2026 17:04

Love it and it'll be so easy to put your stamp on it. There's changes I'd make, but nothing I couldn't live with, for years if needed. Great garden too.
