All the rooms seem quite narrow? And is it a touch overlooked? X

@Littletreefrog yes parking is an issue, would need to make this off road parking. Limited parking in the street. Will be 4 adults living here. There is 4 toilets. One on the ground floor next to the kitchen

What are the points of contention on this between you and dh.

Ohcrap082024 · 21/02/2026 17:24

mumma24 · 21/02/2026 17:03

@Ohcrap082024 our kids are adults now so no schools needed. Am aware of the camp but not a problem for us

In that case, it looks like a solid choice. Good size bedrooms for the adult dc, enough bathroom/shower/wc spaces. Would be quite straightforward to decorate to taste.

Yes to sorting out the parking and fence situation. Good fences make good neighbours and all that.

My only reservation would be that Buxted might be too quiet for adult dc. But it depends in what they are used to/ suited to.

What’s the sticking point?

blanketsnuggler · 21/02/2026 17:30

Are there radiators in every room? The ones I can see are not under the windows which is a waste of space in my opinion. Is there space for wardrobes in all the bedrooms?

BrucesTooth · 21/02/2026 17:33

Doesn't look like anyone is living in it? Developer finished?
There is parking, it's plastic grid with grass through (says in the particulars and you can see on street view) but only for one car, two with jiggling since the wall will be in the way.

milkeyway · 21/02/2026 17:34

I love it. Good location, lovely character

MunicipalDarwinism · 21/02/2026 17:35

It is lovely.

mumma24 · 21/02/2026 17:50

@Buscobel no one living there. They’ve gone into a care home

dapsnotplimsolls · 21/02/2026 17:56

Who are the 4 adults? Is there a dropped kerb already?

Winter2020 · 21/02/2026 18:14

It looks like it has nice potential. It looks expensive to heat to me - perhaps that is amplified by little in the way of carpets, soft furnishings or curtains/blinds so it looks cold. Are the windows quite old? They look like they could be in the pictures. If so that will cost a few quid to upgrade them. It's EPC D and as a biggish house that does suggest it's going to cost a few quid to heat.

Heronwatcher · 21/02/2026 18:17

Context? Who likes it, who doesn’t and why?

Good points, like the look of it, lots of potential, lots of loos, good sized rooms, garden could be lovely, off street parking looks easy to create and the road looks nice. Looks convenient for the train too and nice area.

Bad points, the kitchen is long and narrow and no obvious entertaining space. Looks like the original windows have been replaced with dodgy UPVC. The loft conversion looks a bit dated and not done particularly well. Could be cold and/ or expensive to heat. Getting nice planting in that garden is going to cost money. Even if you create off street parking I am guessing with 4 adults some of you might need to park on the road which could be a PITA. You are quite close to neighbours and if one is a bellend this could be an issue.

goz · 21/02/2026 18:19

It wouldn’t be for me, the kitchen is so small and narrow and the 4th bedroom is pretty useless with that ridiculous ceiling height.

KatiePricesKnickers · 21/02/2026 18:21

I like it. Solid wall and no carpets though. It’s not going to be warm. I’d look at the pointing as well, hopefully it’s not been repointed incorrectly.

Crofthead · 21/02/2026 18:22

Depends. If the other 2 people are your elderly parents then probably not good with stairs. If it’s your adult children then how long will you need a 4 bed house ?

Wolmando · 21/02/2026 18:30

I think it has got a driveway but it's overgrown, on Street view there is a dropped kerb, if I'm looking at the right house. It looks nice OP

mumma24 · 21/02/2026 19:34

@dapsnotplimsolls me, husband and 2 children both early 20s

OP posts:
NamingNoNames · 21/02/2026 19:35

I'd be put off by the missing dividing fence. (see street view)

The loft bedroom could do with built-on cupboards so that the bed doesn't have a low ceiling over it.

mumma24 · 21/02/2026 19:36

@Heronwatcher yes I agree with everything you say, thank you for your advise,

OP posts:
mumma24 · 21/02/2026 19:38

@Crofthead yes adult children, thank you, making me think and I agree with what you say

OP posts:
dapsnotplimsolls · 21/02/2026 19:40

Honestly, I don't think I'd fancy the bedroom with the ensuite unless the bed can be put in a different place. The main thing would be sorting out the front.

HighStreetOtter · 21/02/2026 19:40

Lovely house but agree the heating bills could be something! No cavity wall probably. But it’s a semi which would help I guess.

Crofthead · 21/02/2026 20:28

I wouldn’t spend over half a million on a house that I would need to downsize in 5-10 years.

ForPinkDuck · 21/02/2026 20:33

It looks like a rental.

Tortephant · 22/02/2026 08:14

You can get as many opinions as you want but to be helpful it would be better if you told us what’s important to the 4 of you and what your opinions and disagreements on it are.
