The first one - fairly neutral and could imagine moving my furniture in when theirs has gone.
the second one is nasty, trying too hard and detracts
from the basics of the house with too much glitz. Is it AI generated?

Chobby · 06/09/2025 19:22

I prefer the first one, but would redecorate both if I was buying.

Nannyfannybanny · 06/09/2025 19:24

First one,it has character, second is soleless.

Autumnwalks13 · 06/09/2025 19:24

I prefer the first one, I think the decor is more in keeping with the style of house.

I think the second one is disgusting tbh, overdone and too brown.

Why do you ask?

Catsandcwtches · 06/09/2025 19:25

I wouldn’t choose based on the decor as it’s easy to repaint. I would focus more on the layout, area and structural condition. The first one I like but the garden seems quite overlooked, I don’t know if I could relax fully in it.

BusySittingDown · 06/09/2025 19:26

The first one. Have you missed the boat on the second one? It says stc, unless it is you that has put the offer in?

MissyB1 · 06/09/2025 19:28

First one, second is depressing and the layout isn’t good.

BusySittingDown · 06/09/2025 19:28

Although I prefer the layout of the second one and you can decorate.

Autumnwalks13 · 06/09/2025 19:29

No I’m not buying or offering on either.

Did view both though and was a bit baffled that the estate agents seemed to think the second one was amazing and it was initially priced a lot higher.

I suppose there’s no accounting for taste.

Intrigued by the perspex(glass?) table at the end of the bed in the second house. What does it mean? Why? What is its purpose? Why there?

cheekybtch · 06/09/2025 19:31

Well, one is sold so that should solve the problem for you. But sadly, I prefer the sold one (the second link).

Chobby · 06/09/2025 19:32

I suppose there’s no accounting for taste.

Decor is fairly irrelevant when buying a house though. Neither are to my taste so I’d redecorate both, so the layout/positioning etc would be more important to me.

The second one has a better layout.

PiggyPigalle · 06/09/2025 19:37

Number one, no contest. Nice square sitting room.
So many new builds seem to have long narrow ones where it's hard to arrange furniture. I'd have three sofas in a U shape to the fire.

RichPetuniaAgain · 06/09/2025 19:41

Prefer the first one at £315,000.

Daisymay2 · 06/09/2025 19:43

On decor alone , the first one but the layout of the second one is much better in my opinion.**

Gagamama2 · 06/09/2025 19:46

First, although it’s not great. The glitzy grey of the second already looks dated.

The patio area of the second is much nicer though

Bluevelvetsofa · 06/09/2025 19:50

Decorating isn’t a problem, but many of the fixtures in the second are dark and those are things it would be more difficult and expensive to change.

Yeah that’s what I thought. It’s ashame as it’s been recently done up.

But they’ve made everything so dark, the kitchen, the floors, the doors, the bathroom tiles. It’s a lot of dark.

I think it has put people off hence they dropped the price.

Was just a bit baffled estate agents couldn’t understand.

House one is decorated better imo which makes it seem better

No offense to house 2

DisforDarkChocolate · 06/09/2025 19:55

The first one, I'd hate the second kitchen and that's more important than decoration.

youalright · 06/09/2025 19:59

I like the second one ignore that iv relooked I prefer the first one
