hi

just wondering would anyone think it's nice to hear some background music when looking at a home...or spooky?

what sort?

maybe it's just me but I think it would be nice to hear some Moby, Mozart, Enigma, or even Justin Timberlake...(?)

If you have any of the following problems then definitely put some music on quite loudly:

Noisy neighbours doing diy
Local dogs barking
Whistling windows
Very creaky stairs or floorboards
etc

Money's too tight to mention - Simply Red

Radio would be good.

makes me feel all warm and cosy when I go to someone else's house and they've got the radio on.

Radios 1, 2 or 4 fine with me, I don't discriminate.

But no experimental plinky plonk on Radio 3 or shouty old people's ads on ClassicFM

It would make no difference to my offer.

mazzystar · 11/04/2008 22:27

I would be immediately suspicious about what noise the sellers might be trying to mask.

And it would also really irritate me.

PuhPeng · 11/04/2008 22:35

When I view a house I am mentally screening out all the personal touches. I don't like your taste in wallpaper, your leatherette sofas or your amusing fridge magnets. I'm trying to imagine the blank space with my far more tasteful crap in it. Your music would be one more thing to screen out, and one more barrier to imagining myself living there unless you happened to play a song that I loved (unlikely).

If you have a digital radio you could play birdsong

pointydog · 11/04/2008 23:07

very very high risk. Chances are they will not like your music at all. Sale blown
